I think we need to start discussing the Master being a drag performance as a fandom more
YES YES YES you get it !!!!!! "The Master" to them is like a drag persona. Someone that puts on a performance. Every plan is perfectly organised. They choose the outfit, the entrance, the speech, even the music sometimes !!! Being a villain is not just something they are, it's something they work for. They need to perform the villain role. Not saying the master is not incredibly evil, but they do wear evilness like a costume, exaggerating it to the extreme. They even do double drag sometimes, wearing another persona until !!! It's time for the show!!! And they get to do a little twist and reveal The Master !!! The keywords here are always exaggeration and performance. They do love performing. And they love being evil. So what's better than making up a character to play that is pure evilness ???? Their cartoon villain behaviour is not !!! naivety or stupidity. It's something wanted. It's something they do on purpose. It's their show time !!!!
i have a random issue with a handful of pre-srar fall out boy songs where I LOVE the the start of the song or just generally everything but the chorus, but the chorus itself i find kind of underwhelming (eg: ilalwtwiattgyo, ttotbo, igatrimeanomf, cfmrfrpfmsr, gblogbd(dyptstsasgts)
poor thing...walked straight into the electric fence
at the euthanasia party everyone gets a sip of the forbidden lean
Yeah, same
I love Matilda because it's a story about a child who sees injustice around her and gets mad about it and questions why things aren't fair, and instead of the ending being that she learns how the world works and that life isn't fair, she catapults one of the adults who abused her out of a building with her mind
funny joke
M*A*S*H s6e12 Comrades in Arms part 1
"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you đ" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence
they did the research in the first place because they believed you and wanted to tell people about it. they are not our enemies.
people always go "Instead of spending all that time on a study they could have just listened to us when we said these thing happen"
they did listen, that's how studies work, they asked people about their experiences and put all the data together in a nice package that can be cited
Emos & scene kids got this close to abolishing gender for real. I try not to think about it too much.
The idea of a popular teenage subculture where girl & boys pretty much all dress the same feels impossible now but for a while it was reality and it was beautiful.
honestly i think the reason why itâs so common for kids to have the âitâs not a phase, momâ argument in their adolescence is less because they genuinely plan for their current state of being to remain utterly unchanged forever and more because theyâre tired of having their interests/self expression/beliefs/etc dismissed as foolish due to being probably temporary
i know that when i was that age i certainly wasnât thinking about whether or not iâd be into whatever shit i was into then when i was 80, all i knew was that i was sick of feeling like the adults in my life were just rolling their eyes and waiting out everything that was important to me at that moment
I think another key thing conveyed by "it's not a phase" is that you won't return to being what they expect. Not necessarily that you're going to be This exact way forever, but that the next thing after STILL isn't gonna be the mold they're trying to put you in.
Whether or not being goth or w/e is a phase, *being your own person with your own priorities and interests* is NOT a phase, and that's what really rankles for people to not get.

if I ever tell you âlmk what you think if you read/play/watch it!â I am firmly inviting you to send me a play by play minute by minute cataloguing of your thoughts about The Thing
aren't gorillas gentle giants or something. i stay out of his way, he doesn't maul me, we have a nice time picking out clothes together in opposite sides of the mall
Male gorillas are super aggressive and territorial. Also they interpret nearly every human mannerism as a sign of aggression or a challenge. Smiling and eye contact are both things that zookeepers have to be taught to suppress when theyâre in the vicinity of gorillas.
Well unless the mall is his native territory I think I'm fine, I wasn't planning on smiling at him
This is all irrelevant because the obvious answer is five black mambas. I mean, thatâs not actually very many snakes, and malls are fucking huge. And unlike a gorilla you can definitely outrun a snake if it does show up. Find an open space in the mall where you can see any snake coming and just hangout out there. Fucking easy.
Misguided! I would much rather have a mallmate I can easily see and hear coming. I'm confident I can stay out of the gorilla's way, but if I step on a snake or one otherwise gets the jump on me, it's all over.
It's not just about the physical danger either, it's about my mental health. One gorilla, unless he's actively mad at me, I just keep a healthy distance between us and make sure I never get trapped. With the snakes, it requires a lot more constant vigilance
They should substitute "chimpanzee" for "gorilla" in this hypothetical.
if it was a chimp i'm taking the fucking snakes
Black mambas have a reputation build on being very venomous and very fast. I'm not sure why you would think you could outrun one (or five) in an enclosed space like a mall.
Malls usually have pretty slick floors, and escalators. Iâd choose the gorilla simply because I think that would make an more interesting story (and a better-selling autobiography, I Survived the Mall Gorilla) but I think Iâd stand a pretty good chance at avoiding the mamba. Theyâre fast and aggressive and will chase you but unless we started immediately beside each other I think my sneakers would have the terrain advantage over scutes.
this is too good to leave hidden in the replies
fucking enamored with the implication that this gorilla is fully intelligent but is trying to manufacture plausible deniability like the movie barnyard
