It's literally crazy the fact he can feel her, even when he don't see her. It's partly why I believe in his theory about El survived. Yes, he could be in deep denial. But the fact he always canonically feel her during the entire show give me hope. And with that fact in mind, the idea of the Duffer brothers about El & Mike never see each other again if she is alive is bullshit. Because it is precisely partly due to this ability that they have always found their way back to each other. They are like a single being split in two.

absolutely haunted by the sheer raw anguish of mike screaming for el, their last kiss, the most passionate and devastating kiss we’ve seen on the show. they will always be stranger things’ greatest love story and this finale only proved that. el’s “i love you,” both of them crying, mike screaming for her over and over again. “i can’t live without you” “i can’t lose her again” “i can’t lose you”. mike’s one constant throughout every single season was his fear of losing her. his pure desperation begging her not to leave him killed me but showed so beautifully how much he loved her. how much they loved each other. “a love so strong it breaks down dimensional barriers.”

So im rewatching s4 and i can't help but think that El would've brought everyone together somehow. Like i got upset at Mike and Dustin for not going to Lucas's game and i feel like El would've been that one friend that showed up for Lucas and been pretty exited for him. It sucks that we didn't get to see her bond more with the party.

Oh El would've 100% shown up for Lucas' game - but tbh I think Will played a similar role in the party and would NOT have skipped it.

It's ironic the whole point of the series was El bonding with the party and then they gave her some superhero arc instead.

Interesting take, I wondered what your thoughts on it were.

Bad take for the most part if you ask me lmao but you probably already knew I was gonna say that.

1. “They kept making her come back to him” just say you want to take her autonomy away and be done with it jfc. She CHOSE him time and time again that’s the whole point.

2. All of those independence arcs WERE completed, see above for why. I will agree that Hop didn’t treat her as well as he should’ve but leave Mike outta this.

3. I agree with this one for the most part. The lack of female friends isn’t so much the issue to me though as it is the lack of ANY substantial friendships at all but I digress. I think Kali is a good mention here too, even if they are sisters, they’re still friends to me.

4. Just outright infantilizing her here 😐 okay. El is a big girl and can make her own choices, it’s just that when she makes choices you don’t agree with it’s “her not having control” of the situation, that right?

5. This one is the only good take on the list to me and I 100% agree she was fridged. You didn’t need to write all that other stuff anon, could’ve just left it at this, I think it’s bad enough.
