Finding Peace

It seems to me that the only way to truly find peace is to accept what you have in life, find contentment in that, recognize the beauty of it, and realize it is what it is.

The false idols of dreams, aspirations, desires, and goals seem to be what keep many afloat, but in my mind these are merely annoyances, and if constantly having these things just out of your grasp is a source of stress for you then you may want to rethink things.

This isn’t to say that one shouldn’t try for more, but rather that one should simply be happy where they are, and if better things do come along it should only be considered a bonus beyond the great quality of life you’ve already come to enjoy.

For me there is a lot of freedom in this concept. For the rest of you, just keep turning that hamster wheel if that’s what does it for you.
