A memorial piece for one of my favorite music artists. Just shy of what was supposed to be his 33rd birthday, I wanted to do something more but I don't think I have it in me right now. Below the cut is a longer blurb commemorating him. Would be appreciated if you took a minute to read through it.

I found Oliver Tree's music back in 2019, right around when his online persona and the Alien Boy EP was really kicking off. I remember finding his older music when he went by the name Tree, or just songs he featured in and being surprised that it was the same artist. I normally don't look into artists past their discography, but Oliver was the one exception. His music and style really resonated with me back then, and especially during lockdown. I think it says a lot about a musician's work when you remember the lyrics to songs you haven't listened to in years still clear as day once it comes across your feed again. Listening to the entire Splitting Branches album felt like a blast from the past.

Admittedly I haven't listened to his work as much in the last couple of years, but I've been catching up in the last couple of weeks (as well as just blasting his music in general), and there's some real bangers I missed out on. Sorry Mr. Tree, but better late than never. It's gotten me through some pretty tough shit in the past, and I know it will do the same now after he's gone.

I never knew the real Oliver, only his online persona. Seeing recounting from people who did though, it's clear that beyond the memes and characters, he was a genuine, incredibly talented, creative, driven and unique soul. I don't think there is ever going to be another person just like him, but I know his legacy will live on through his foundation, his family, friends, and fans.

I do plan on getting a memorial tattoo some time in the future, though that's probably still a ways away. Thank you Oliver Tree Nickell for getting me and many others through terrible times, leaving such a monumental impact and inspiring myself and others to keep creating. I never knew you but you seemed like a really cool person, and your absence will be felt for a long fuckin time.

PS. If you want to use this art for like a pfp, feel free. This is as much for him as it is for his community. Nothing commercial though please.

Celebrating 20 years of Revenge of the Sith with a new doodle <3 Alt. version below the cut since I'm indecisive AND me blabbering about the movie AND AND pictures of my shrine because I'm silly

I can somewhat recall the first time I saw this movie, although it was only the chunk of the Mustafar fight when I was really sick, sleeping in the living room one night. I was so young and so sick that I thought I imagined the movie, because it was so different from what I had seen before. I tried describing it to people but nobody knew what I was talking about - until I had started watching the movies in full years later, after seeing my brother watching TCW series, and realized... WAIT THIS WAS THAT MOVIE???? Grievous quickly became a staple favorite of mine, and has remained that way for over ten years now :} I can draw him from memory and he never looks the same </3 but I'm content with that. I love the stupid mustache-twirling cyborg. I have a couple other maquettes that are put away at the moment - but bear witness my inner psyche... The bust was 3-D printed by a shop on Etsy and then was hand painted by myself.

Hi howdy hello it's been a minute again - I keep forgetting about posting online and keeping up with stuff. It's hard to nowadays tbh, too much stimulation. For those curious I have been doing some art, but it's very minimal effort or just commissions that most don't care to see. It's been really draining to do anything deemed worthwhile and I kind of have to rely on the occasional spark of motivation to get me to do something personal.

BUT on a better note, I would like to try to post some things here soon. I keep saying that but it's been slow in the OC and fanart department up until recently. The brain juices are flowing again. I have some doodlings from various fixations from the past couple of months, that have piled up, and might throw them on here. It's not very consistent LOL

I've decided to finally start working on this comic I outlined over a year ago (even though I can't draw any face the same way twice) and I'm excited to see how much progress I've made since I created the initial draft.

It started as a sort of long-distance eldritch love story, then I started to mix in some introspection and gender identity exploration...and now I have this.

I dunno if I'll be able to actually get the whole thing finalized--since it's almost 90 goddamn pages and the longest comic I've ever drawn was maybe 10--but I'll share it as I work on it.

Some doodlings done before the end of the year, all of them are gifts for friends minus the first one. I'm still trying to improve my art more while balancing burnout, but I'd like to make greater things coming 2025, hopefully. <3 Thanks for sticking around!
