Queen of multiple universes
(via heda_clexa Twitter)
not to be dramatic, but Okoye telling her bitch ass husband she would end him without hesitation when he tried to manipulate her changed me as a person and cured my depression.
“would you kill me my love?”
“for wakanda? No question.”
a woman in my theater: “oH I HEARD THAT!!!!”
Wanda Maximov on the otherhand won’t uninstall her dating sim to save the universe.
Fucking TEA bitch
Okay, but for real.
The BEST thing about that scene? Was the fact that Okoye hesitates for a brief second. She considers it, it upsets her, you see it in the flutter of her eyes (HOLY FUCK ACTING BY THE WAY), the way she considers, she REALLY considers, killing the man she loves for her country.
Because it’s the right thing to do. It’s the only thing she can do. Even if it’ll break a part of her, and it will. She knows it, and he knows it.
He bows, and surrenders, not because he loves her (though he does of course he does), but because (I believe) Okoye’s true strength is the power of her resolve.
He tested it, and faced his death. Even at her hands. His resolve that what he was doing is right is nothing, NOTHING in the face of hers.
This scene makes me tear up more than almost any other, because it is just so fucking powerful. I love it. Even if it took me a dozen watches to really, really understand why.
