When people say rape is about power and not sex it would help to specify that this means rape is facilitated by (including but not limited to) the power men have over women, the power adults have over children etc and not that it means sexual desire is never a motivator for perpetrators

"Rape is about power, not sex" is meant to orient our thinking away from sexual desire as a cause - because sexual desire is completely fine and value neutral - and towards looking at how sexual assault is possible in the first place, but a lot of people literally think "people never perpetrate sexual assault because they want sex, they only do it because they want to have control over and inflict harm on someone" which is simply not true at all

A very large chunk of intersex women and girls aren’t allowed to be pro athletes in track or running anymore and I wish more people were talking about it or hell, even just knew about it. I wish there was more of an outcry. I wish people cared more about defending intersex people in sport because why does it seemingly only fall on intersex athletes themselves to fight this shit at great cost to their privacy and safety.

I hope World Athletics rots in hell.

ik other people have already spoke about this but it really is a double edged sword when ppl see a man they presume to be cis breaking gender norms and then start making jokes about he's going to become a woman. It makes me feel like I need to be more gender-conforming or else whatever interest I have or outfit I wear is then an open invitation for people to doubt my gender identity. Which was already an issue with cis people, but now its an issue with other trans people who try to make it a morality thing. I can either defend myself and say no, interests and clothing don't determine my gender, I do, and then get called a misogynist. Or I out myself as trans, and defend myself in the same way, and get called a misogynist. Or I sit in silence and let ppl misgender me because ppls forcefem kink and gender speculation are now just a joke that we all have to be in on and play nice with and just have no boundaries.

This also affects literally every other gender including trans women and cis men but I'm sick to death of defending cis men and trans women have talked about this plenty already and ppl still do not listen lmao

idk a lot of people on tumblr are super into this weird mentality of "well i'm [x group] so i can't be [bigoted against x group]" and i'm like yes, yes, you can. literally everyone knows this. you just would rather use your identity as a shield against examining how you've also been exposed to the same bigoted narratives that harm the group you're in as everyone else instead of, like, actually building solidarity with other people like you.

people like to see internalized [x-ism] as a thing that only affects them, but it doesn't. it's not just your self-loathing that you got over when you learned better. unpacking those beliefs is an ongoing process, and if you don't go through it and do that work, it will always spill out onto others like you. and weaponizing it against others, claiming that you're using it to "punch up," does nothing to actually dismantle these systems and in fact, only reinforces them.

Male lunar deities since everyone keeps wanting to argue with me that the moon can’t be a boy

Khonsu

This dude is from Egypt and is often depicted as a bird or a mummified youth. He’s also a god of healers and travelers. His name even means traveler. One of his temples claims that he was the snake who fertilized the cosmic egg.

Máni

Usually in modern art he’s depicted together with his sister Sol this is my boy. He’s from the Norse pantheon and he’s getting chased by wolves. He’s also possibly the origin of the idea of “the man in the moon”.

Alignak

This guy is from some Inuit traditions and in addition to being the moon is said to control the tides, weather, and earthquakes.

Tsukuyomi

The god of the moon in Shintoism. There are still shrines to him operating today. He’s connected to the calendar, the tides, and listens to prayers from travelers.

Bahloo

A moon spirit in some Australian Aboriginal traditions. In one story he is said to be the reason that people die because men didn’t help him when he asked them to.

Chandra/Soma

In some Hindu traditions the moon is man. I’ve seen prayers and mantras to him about everything from finding inner peace and purity to getting richer.

And there are others but these are some major moon guys.
