You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.”

These can be for new Christians AND old ones who are reviving their faith. It’s just a way to slowly re-build that connection! These are also just recommendations- everyone has different preferences. As someone who struggles with their faith a good bit, these have helped me a lot.
1.I’d recommend finding a church you enjoy. As important as a church is, it’s not what should define your faith. Choose one you’re comfortable with.
(I personally don’t care to talk to the people in mine, since it’s only about God for me, but if a community helps you, then go for it!)
2. Make an altar. It doesn’t have to be nice, and make sure you’re not praying TO the altar as an idol. It’s just a place to make you feel at ease and organized while praying. At minimum, you can just put a bible on a table. However, some easy decorations that could help are crosses (can be home-made or even just drawn on paper), a candle (a lot of people buy Jesus candles. I don’t personally have one yet), angel statues, and flowers. I also like to keep my jewelry (especially gold) on mine!
(fun fact: my favorite thing on my altar is a broken cross I found, which I keep there as a reminder that no human is perfect)
3. Find a select time to pray, and when you pray, don’t view God as something to be afraid of. He knows everything, even your worst moments. He knows what you did, and he’s not mad. He loves you so much. Feel free to vent to him! If you wanna cry, don’t hold back! (I’ve cried many times because I was stressed in prayer)
4. What I’ve started doing is picking up my Bible and saying “God, guide me to a page that you think I need to hear right now,” then flip to a random page in the Bible. I usually do it twice, read both pages (I’d recommend highlighting, too!), and sometimes write my thoughts on it with the date. I once flipped through and got a page I didn’t think applied to me, so I tried again and got the exact same page at random. After reading it, I teared up because it was so close to my exact feelings.
5. Finally, don’t let this become a chore. This is your Father, as in your Dad, that you’re talking to. Sometimes I don’t feel like taking 15 minutes to pray and read, so I don’t. I just say a quick night prayer, and sleep. This isn’t a great habit, sure, but it’s healthy! I know this is exciting, but don’t burn yourself out. Take your time, and you’ll start to get excited about the idea that you’ll have a relationship with God, not just that you’ll have a heaven after death. Believe it or not, people aren’t praising him just for rewards, or because they have to, but because they love him so much they need to say it! Relationships, especially if damaged by the church, need time to build, so let yourself do that.
I’ll be posting prayer tips soon! My ask box is always open if you have any questions/suggestions 🤍
You carry so much light in your heart, brightening everything around you. You give the world love just by being you. You deserve every beautiful thing.
Idk who to tell this to so I figured I'd post about it.
For about 6 months I've been questioning my religion. I've been going back and forth between christian, agnostic, and atheist and I was so confused. I felt hated by christians for being bi (or possibly lesbian idk rn) but I felt confused by agnostism and atheism so it's been a rollercoaster. I've avoided all talk about religion because it triggers those thoughts severely (I have religious OCD if that wasn't clear enough)
Well, I was scrolling on Pinterest today and when I tell you I had like 6 videos popping up, all telling me to come back to God and that he's not mad at me and I started bawling like a baby because I felt God and it's like I've stopped questioning and I know this is what I believe. I believe I'm a Christian who loves women and feminism and love and kindness and whimsy and art and gentleness. <3 XX
