Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes

The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve. 

Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.

If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.

Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.

This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

look, I can endure any kind of UI changes that are supposed to help tumblr-rookies to understand how this works. They may be a nuisance, but that's ok, we have x-kit or we can get used to buttons being here or there.

But this. This changes the data architecture. This changes the SINGLE THING that makes tumblr the "... yes and" website. This KILLS THE COLLABORATIVE POSTING THAT MAKES THIS SITE DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER MEDIA PLATFORMS.

When they’re light up shoes are now red,and the only lights on are red and blue and the only things they’re is, is the sound off humanity breaking. Us, the ones who destroy over love, the poor the rich, the black the white and the flags that divided us, humanity.

I pledge allegiance to YOUR flag of the divided states of America and to YOUR republic for which it stands one nation- One Nation? you mean the one that's divided between red and blue, left and right, rich and poor, black and white? I still don't see your view.i just don't see how you can stand for that? pledging "allegiance" to a country that to make a completely different halftime show just because the performer lacked american "DNA". When I could've sworn Puerto Rico was a fact a part of the USA. Under god- Under which God? Cause I know darn well it ain't mine. The Bible Cleary states in Leviticus 19:33 "When a foreigner resides amoung you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing amoung you must be treated as your native born." Unless that part of your Bible was torn out then I could've sworn that is was on page 112,130,96? But with liberty and justice for who? For you? for only a few? With your maga hats.
