It's fall!
"Iām afraid I havenāt really seen you around before, Zane, then again I donāt really know many people in town." She said with a short laugh.Ā
"I haven't seen you before either, but no reason to be afraid." he grinned, then made a hideous face, "And I'm notĀ that scary!" He let his face relax again, "I don't really know too many people either."
"I got poptarts!"
Sally grinned widely. āYes! Brownies and Cupcakes andā¦ Oh! Zane!ā She suddenly had the perfect picture in her mind. āA Winter Ball? It would be a lot of work, but it could be a nice way to raise money for the theater too.ā She wasnāt sure if theyād be allowed. But it sounded like a good idea to her. Ā And the imagine in her mind was beautiful. They had the space at the theater, decorated with silver and white and oh, it would be perfect!
"I meanā¦ If we did a winter theme weād have time to plan and then we can just make the treats the night before, and have other people bring stuffā¦?" She shrugged.Ā
Zane beamed when she suggested the next idea, nodding eagerly. "YES!" he exclaimed, nodding and imaging the theatre. He could paint the flats if they'd let, put them up and turn the place into a winter wonderland. And there was a sound system for music, of course, and the library had food. "It'll be fantastic!" He beamed and though for a moment, biting his lip. "But wait..." he though out loud, "Who do we ask to let us do that? Like, do we ask the director or the mayor...." He had no idea how anyone would go about figuring that part out.
I need a hug...

"Did you eat all of it already? How are you not doubled over with a stomachache? Orā¦did you justā¦not get much candy." Henry fiddled with his bag a little and said "if you just didnāt get very much I could share some of mineā¦"Ā
Zane nodded, "Both..." He sighed wistfully, "And I don't get paid until next week, so no money for discount candy..."
"It's okay, kid, keep your candy, you earned it."
"I got poptarts!"
Sally giggled softly, blushing at his words but nodded. āIād like thatā¦ actually. It would be nice to have company, my brother is a bit of a bore.ā She laughed again and smiled. āAnd Iām sure seeing it made will make it much easier if you make them on your ownā¦ Maybe I can get the ingredients for some other things and we can make enough and have a littleā¦ cast partyā¦ or Halloween party but Iām afraid it might be too late to get too many people to comeā¦ it would fun thoughā¦ maybe just a fall ..festival?ā She suggested, she liked the idea of having aĀ friend over. She hardly had many friends until she started working in the theater. She was just pleased Viktor seemed to be letting her go out a bit more oftenā¦Ā
Life was lonely when you stayed home alone most of it.
"We can do that!" he agreed, thinking for a moment, "I can make brownies and cupcakes?" He had a binder of recipes. They were all desert, of course, which didn't work out well for any health goals he might want to set, but it was perfect for a party!
"A fall festival... I can get the leaves." he gestured to a tree, looking at it's firework colored leaves. He hadn't planned a party in ages, not since last Halloween. He missed it, they tended to be fun, but he had never had many friends to invite to one, so he never threw many. But Sally seemed to, so it might actually be fun!
Umm...
"I'm out of Halloween candy already!"
"HELP!"
Library || Open
"The library is in need of a bit of a remodeling before I can open itā¦ Does anyone wish to help me pick out a few colors for it? Iām thinking a pale blue, maybe with gold trimā¦ white is far too plainā¦ maybe roses on the trimā¦"
Zyler looked up from the Stefen King book he had been reading in a dark corner, and walked over to the librarian, his backpack in hand. "I have some colored pencil's you can use to see which combinations you like?" he offered her, his head tilted to the side as he waited for an answer.
"I still enjoy buying all the candy on half off after halloween, i have so much candy itās not even funny."
Zyler held out a pack of Skittles, "This is all I have left, since I don't get a paycheck to buy more until next week." He pouted slightly, doing his best imitation of a child who was out of Oreos to eat.

"It is Halloweāen and I have to spend most of my day in work. I should be bothered about that.. And can you believe I overheard someone saying it was because the manager didnāt want to hang a skeleton about the place." The living skeleton was sitting alone in the child minding section where he was usually found, talking to a skull that he kept on him. It was still early in the day, so the shop was mostly empty.
Keyword being āmostlyā. Jack was unaware someone had walked up along that section and could hear him talking to no one in particular.
Zane suppressed a giggle when he heard Jack talking to himself, sneaking up behind him. He crept up until he was a few inches away, the shoved his back (though not forcefully enough to knock him over), shouting "BOO!" as he did. He grinned at his friend, waiting for him to turn around. It was Halloween, so he wouldn't be too pissed off, but just as a precaution he stood there with T-rex arms, because it was wrong to kill extinct animals.
"Hey, Jack." he grinned, running a hand through his hair, "They told me to come to the toy section to find crayons, apparently they aren't in art anymore." He made an exaggerated grimace, "Can you help me find one of the really big 64-crayon packs?"
"I got poptarts!"
"I donāt have it memorizedā¦" She said with a slight sad face and looked down. "I could bring it to you next rehearsal? Or Iāll happily bake some and bring them in, I mean Iām.. Iām home alone quite often. My brother is a Doctorā¦ Itād give me something to do." She shrugged a bit. "And if you do like them I could give you the recipe, if you likeā¦"
Zane nodded happily at the offer, but then frowned at the next part of the sentence. "All alone?" he asked, his sad face turning into a semi-pout, "That's no fun!" He tilted his head to the side, thinking for a moment, "I KNOW!" He looked up at her, grinning, "We could get together and bake them!" Then he realized what he said and blushed slightly, looking down at his feet, "You know, if you wanna. It might be kinda fun?"
It's fall!
"Well in your opinion. Anyways Iām Wendy Davenport, itās a pleasure to meet you." She said holding out her hand for him to shake.
Zane shook her hand, smiling a bit shyly, "Zane Rowe." He pulled his hand back, and smiled brighter again, "It's nice to meet you too!"
I'm bored...
"Sounds like you have plenty to occupy yourself with, then."
"Actually, it's never enough." he ran a hand through his hair and gave her a half shrug as he spoke.

Alice stared at him a moment, as if heād just asked her to punch him in the face or something. āThe best??ā She questioned. āI canāt pick. Itās all so lovely. What do you usually like? I can recommend something for you~ā She offered cheerfully.
Zyler thought for a moment, "Anything Halloween-y?" he asked, hoping that would help narrow things down, "It's soon, I need to start celebrating!" He was excited, and getting in the spirit now would be fun!

"Well Iāve never really been a fan of horror films myself, Iām a bit of a āfraidy cat I suppose."
Zane wrinkled his nose and pouted, "Bummer..." he told her, "They're the best!"

Zane frowned, "Don't listen to your haters, you're better than toast."

Zane looked around the cafe, smiling at the girl. "What's the best?" he asked, sticking his hand in the pocket of his jeans to make sure his money was there.
