how was the concert??

it was *deep breath* SO good. highlight reel includes:

Tom Morello taking everybody in the Nationals Park arena to another dimension during his solo on "Ghost of Tom Joad", as previously mentioned

Bruce extorting the audience more than once to "let 'em hear you in the fucking White House" (as well as leading a chant of "ICE OUT NOW")

getting rained on for like half the show, which given how humid and warm it was actually felt pretty refreshing

at the end of (I think?) "Badlands" Bruce passed his harmonica off to a young boy sitting on his dad's shoulders in the pit, and the camera held on the boy's awestruck expression for a solid 15 seconds

they announced a protest festival happening at Meriweather Post Pavilion in October and it sounds like it's going to rip ass

cried during "Born in the USA" (yeah I know, lame, whatever). cried during "Death to My Hometown". ugly-sobbed through most of "Darkness on the Edge of Town" which didn't really dry out until the end of "Streets of Minneapolis". cried during "American Skin". cried during "Badlands". cried at the cover of "Chimes of Freedom" they closed the show with. they wrung me out like a towel!!!
