A Blue Dragon NPC for the DnD campaign I'm running. Her name is Arressa, and she's a recurring NPC. She isn't hostile, but instead sometimes asks the party to babysit her son.
Arressa has earned the title of Cloud Dancer due to her technique of summoning thick clouds and fog when in combat. Her unusually pale coloration aids in blending in with her summons, making her frighteningly elusive.
I combined aspects of the 5e Blue Dragon and the 5.5e Blue Dragon when designing her. Mostly I just wanted to put the ears back, but I adjusted the wings and tail a bit too.

I did a redraw of my thri-kreen bladesinger, Lycaste. I based her off orchid mantises and even named her after an orchid.

Khirad, the Star of Secrets
Khirad in DnD's Forgotten Realms setting is a Great Old One that is said to reside in a blue star. It provides prophecies and divination, speaks in whispering tones, and is said to shine brighter before calamity.
This is my interpretation of how it may manifest within its own realm, the blue star it calls home.
I took a lot of inspiration from Hermaeus Mora's Apocrypha from the Elder Scrolls series when it comes to the buildings. I thought it fit a purveyor of secrets well!
This piece was done with gouache, acrylics, and colored pencils with some touch ups done in Clip Studio.

Hey everyone, recent circumstances have required me to pay quite a lot in vet bills. In order to recover some of that, I'm offering some simple sketch commissions. They're a pay what you want offer. If you're at all interested, you can message me here or tip me on my recently created ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/giganotus
Do you or your followers have any recs for acrylic markers for Black skin tones? My Arrtx set is limited and I'm looking for more options.
Calling all traditional artists!
Oh, I can contribute to this one! Both ohuhu and copic markers have decent ranges of skin tones. This is what ohuhu lists as their official skin tone colors
The darker ones are fairly ashy, i'll admit. Not fond of that. but since alcohol markers are meant to be layered, you can use more vibrant colors underneath to get better undertones. It's what I've done in my pieces. Copic has more vibrant dark tones, but is also pricier.
Finished! Hooray! The Glitching Out Brush Pack is over yonder.
You can change the size & spread by adjusting the gap & brush size values in settings. Compatible with Clip Studio only!
Don't forget: 200+ freebie brushes | and my brush tag is here!
Have you ever made a mouths tutorial? I thought you had but I can't find it under the art tips tag so maybe I'm just going crazy
But if you haven't and it isn't too much to ask, could you make one? I love the way you draw mouths I need that ability BAD (˶˘ ³˘˶)
I don't know how to explain in a simple tutorial cause there's so many ways to draw mouths but I hope my doodles can help
Something to keep in mind is teeth, think about where the head is positioned/angled and how that's going to changed the perspective on the teeth, which will in turn change how the mouth looks. Remember that the top teeth are fused to the skull while the bottom jaw can move around, so when you're drawing the mouth open, the chin will move with the mouth
You guys the art director has a hand ref sheet if anyone wants some good references

i'd like to add that the shadow color isnt necessarily dictated entirely by the primary light source, but the bounce light! so for the example of a sunny environment, the reason the shadows are blue are because of the light from the blue sky reflects across the environment; but, if the character were to be under tree cover, the bounce light would be coming from the leaves and thus the shadow would look greener.
Yee yee!!! You got it right on the nose!
Bounce light is something I didn't cover but I adore it!
Gotta work on my bounce light 💪
reblog to save a life
A Reigar NPC I designed for my DnD campaign I'm running. Her name is Urvashi and I based her appearance off Nu Udra from Monster Hunter Wilds.
Reigar are probably one of my favorite official Celestials from DnD, though I do think it was a missed opportunity to not give them tentacle hair in canon lol. Oh well, I can do whatever I want in my game!

It was a logistical nightmare to take him around with me but it was super cool and super fun. I met a lot of new people and even got a cool Foto with @gigagraphics amazing Hollow Vein.
I got more Fotos with Albrecht Shark but they got me in it as well so nah
The Tennocon was just incredible
Maybe I'll make a Loid shark when I got the time.
Excellent tutorial to drawing cubby body types
“Some chubby guide for y’all!”

Is it okay if I give it a energy pool (...glob? Pod?) as a reward for sitting in ur hand so nicely?
The Hollow Vein will happily accept and thank you in Voidtongue
Gig does ur pet spinal cord take treats
Yes. Warframe energy pools are its favorite
I don't normally do construction type art, but I wanted to make a prop to take with me to Tennocon. So here's my Hollow Vein puppet I finished painting up! Still gotta string the lil dude up but I'm happy with it!
Made using two wooden snake toys glued together, EVA foam, Apoxie Sculpt, hands that I cut off of two unfortunate Ken dolls, and acryllic paint. Really was a lot of experimenting and practice using different materials!

Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl! The OG posts were lost with the hacking of my original Twitter account (@/bagels_donuts) but I’ve since reuploaded the whole thread to my new Twitter (@/ItsDonutsFR)! I hope artists on tumblr find these useful, sorry it took me so long to post them here😭🙏🏾 I’ll upload them all in parts!
