My mom is coughing and has a stuffy nose but she won’t get a covid test because she can still taste and bc a lot of people at her work have a cold - or strep throat - right now too. Personally I feel like she’s being a little too flippant about it! She doesn’t know for sure it’s not covid. And neither do I. And I would like the peace of mind! But that doesn’t matter I guess

Our outdoor cats had such a rough life before we moved in here. The previous owners of this house saw them as strictly tools to prevent pests, and they barely had adequate shelter for rain, not to mention how cold it gets at night. Since we moved in, we have effectively made the shed into a cat house, whereas before they had some shoddy lil pet carriers w some straw in them that were really just out in the open. They were also all sick and a couple of them were very close to dying. But since I’ve taken over their care, including giving them heated beds and lots and lots of blankets that we clean every couple of days, they are all doing so so so well. We still need to get them all neutered because I do NOT want to deal with dozens of kittens in the spring, but seeing how much happier (and warmer and dryer) they are in the month since we’ve moved here is a really nice feeling. It’s raining today, and cold, and I just went out to the cat house to feed them. They’re normally all out at this time of day, but because of the weather, all 6 of them were in the shed, and they all swarmed me when I walked in with their food. They’re all just little cutie babies who needed better than what they were being given before. Now they are in the care of bred-in-the-bone animal people, and their quality of life is only going to keep going up.

i think everyone should be sillier. i think life would be better that way. i used a marker pen to change the label on the oat milk so that it says boat milk and now i crack up laughing every time i open the fridge
