Hijab is not much different from many different hair coverings which used to be extremely common throughout the world. All of those had their own religious connections with them. Hair coverings were often a tool of both religion and "modesty", the loaded gendered concept. Nowadays it's most commonly associated with Islam therefore it strikes out as Abnormal. A bra too serves the same purpose, yet its considered the "acceptable" tool of Modesty with no loaded baggage whatsoever while Hijab is the "backwards" tool of modesty with Evil Baggage. The same concept, when it's Muslim racialized, is Backwards and Violent, yet the violence of the bra, because it is accepted among White people too, is acceptable and invisible

Are we actually fr right now. No way are we still arguing that Black cis women are transmisogyny affected. The word you are looking for is misogynoir. But nice job erasing the experiences of Black trans women because you got all up in arms about TME/TMA

Don't get me wrong, there is a large amount of overlap between misogynoir and transmisogyny (such as the hypermasculinization of both groups), and of course there is the intersection of transmisogynoir which targets Black trans women. But misogynoir and transmisogyny are not the same and to treat them as the same erases the way misogyny intersects with racism and transphobia. It treats racism and transphobia as the same when they are not.

A Black cis woman is transmisogyny exempt because she is cisgender and can therefore exempt herself from transphobia and transmisogyny, a privilege that Black transgender women do not have (on the other side of the coin, white trans women can exempt themselves from racism through Just Being White, something that a Black woman cannot do).

What people call "collateral damage" when trying to make the claim that Black cis women are TMA, is misogynoir. To call it transmisogyny is erasure of the real reason, which is racism (antiblackness specifically).
