The main reason I’m pushing for people to stop using the term ‘pedophile’ and instead use the term ‘child sexual abusers’, is because since all discussions of child sexual abuse focus on this idea of an evil person who is just out to get kids because they are sexual attracted to them, it makes it hard for kids who where sexually assaulted by people who don’t fit that description to realize they were sexually assaulted.

It didn’t register for me until recently that my experiences of being forced to strip naked multiple times at the mental hospital to be ‘checked’ when I was 14 was sexual assault, because the people who did it were nurses/doctors who clearly didn’t find me sexually attractive but instead used it as a form of humiliation and control towards children they deemed as ‘unruly’ and ‘uncooperative’ (ie. children who asked to be treated like people). I thought only people who fit into this idea of a child attracted pedo could be child sexual abusers, so I thought my experience didn’t count.

Stepping away from the idea that there is a pedophile boggieman and instead highlighting that anyone can be a child sexual abuser will help more people realize that their experiences are sexual assault.

I feel small and pathetic asking again, but. this is all I can currently do to help us. my girlfriend and I are living out of a hotel after she saved me from becoming homeless again in February. we've been able to barely scrape by on the hotel's weekly rates, but it's really not sustainable, especially as rates continue climbing in the summer. we had to book two separate stays for this week, and we simply don't have the money to cover the rate as well as the 2 deposits. each deposit is $100, and it would be mostly fine if it didn't take several days for that hold to be returned to my girlfriend's account. the stay itself is $740 for just this week. if I didn't have food stamps we actively wouldn't be able to survive off what she makes. look I... I don't want her to start selling off her treasured possessions to keep me off the street. she's sold so goddamn many magic cards already. Help Nader, please. He needs pain medication and surgery and to get those things he needs exorbitant amounts of cash. They don't have much in savings right now, last time Nader reported for living expenses such as rent/etc (extremely high and not fixed) is only a little over $10k, and this is dwindling because of gaps in donations.

That might sound like a lot, but it's absolutely not. If I had $10k, with the price of living so high I could survive about 6 months in my city before running out of money for rent and groceries, I didn't even factor my utilities.

Imagine a city that has been for the most part cut from the outside world. Resources are limited and the money is draining fast. If you're working class with a job, think about how hard it is for you to save money in an economy that may be suffering but isn't being strangled.

It's almost impossible to get ahead. And to get out is hundreds of thousands with his family members and father's medical expenses.

I can't fathom how hopeless he must feel.
