Hux: [loses Kylo at the mall] "Excuse me? I lost my friend. Can I please make an announcement?"
Concierge: "Of course."
Hux: [leans in to mic] "Goodbye you little shit."
Meanwhile, Kylo is upstairs in his room, live-streaming his time in captivity.
The rest of the series is here
Was it possible for him to be more tense than he was? Whatever hellhole of a house he’d been spat out into, Adam was checking out of that faster than his legs could carry him. He shoved his fists further into the pockets of his threadbare jacket, like it might quell their shaking. Like somehow the inexplicable and more than slightly impossible sounds of his father rumbling around in the kitchen for a beer and warming up for a good shout might stop echoing in the back of his mind. “Fuck every single part of this horseshit.”
“Couldn’t have said it better myself.” His voice was hoarse, a guttural and unfamiliar rasp sliding out of his throat, roughened by the alcohol he’d been steadily consuming for hours. Hux had no idea to whom he was responding; the presence in the hall outside the office he was camped in sounded human, but it was just as likely to be another phantom, slithering from his memory to addle him even further. It mattered little to him. Everything he had known, everything he had lived by, all of it fell away the moment he landed in this peculiar hell. Hux slid down further into the slick, high-backed chair he’d claimed on his first day there, catching the clear bottle of vodka before it could slide out of his lap and onto the floor.
“Who’s there?”
ANGSTY FUCKIN' SENTENCE STARTERS
“I appreciate what you’re trying to do, but you’re just making this worse.” “I don’t think we have anything left to say to each other.” “Are you happy? Huh? DOES THIS MAKE YOU HAPPY?!” “This isn’t the end. Just the part where I say enough is enough.” “Stop. Just…stop.” “You have a lot of nerve saying ‘Hello’ like nothing happened.” “I’d say ‘give me one good reason to stay’ but I already know the reasons. I just have better reasons to go.” “I’m sorry…we didn’t make it in time. They’re gone.” “You said you’d always be there for me…so how did this happen? Why weren’t you there?” “There will never be anyone else like you…if I’m very lucky.” “What, you thought you deserved better than a voice message?” “What did you do?” “How much have you had?” “That isn’t water in that bottle, is it.” “I can’t stand watching you destroy yourself like this.” “Didn’t it occur to you that you’re hurting me, too?!” “This can’t keep happening.” “The only good part about being alone is that I don’t wake anyone up when I start screaming at night.” “Holy shit–did you do that?!” “How long have you been doing this to yourself?” “I don’t want help. I just want the pain to stop.” “I just can’t stand being alone anymore.” “Please, don’t tell anyone.” “I can’t stand to lose anything else.” “I’m hurting you too much…you should leave.” “Some things just aren’t worth fighting for.” “I don’t even know why you pretend to care anymore.”
