i mean, imagine if you were alexei in ep 2, though.......your brother is the captain of an original 6 american hockey team that two years ago was at the bottom of the league and picked your brother 1OA, but then they made him captain with a fat contract and a year later, they are going to win the hardest trophy to win in american sports, but before that, your brother will be the captain of your country's elite hockey team with mountains of singularly important cultural heritage behind it, at the olympics taking place in your country, where your father will mention you less than he mentions his dead wife, arrange for only your brother to meet powerful ministers and ambassadors and have access to the richest, most connected echelon of society, and your brother will not speak of you once and no one will wonder where you are because you were written out of this story before you were even in it and it doesn't matter how nasty or bitter you get about it - you were never the point and all you do is confirm that you never were worth telling a story about in the first place - your brother will hate you, you will make sure of it, but at least it isn't nothing. at least he says your name like it means something.

AND THEN in ep4,, your father will forget you even EXIST, while he calls your brother in a dementia-induced panic. but your brother will be sure to call and scream at you and remind you the only reason you care for your father, of course, is the money you are being paid. and the narrative will never tell the viewer where you were actually, what you were doing, how much you cared, because it's not important!!! you're not important!!!!!! you've already been slashed through!!!!!
