Ty‘s life at the Scholomance

I missed Ty so much that I decided to reread some of my favourite fun facts about his life at the Scholomance that CC posted on Twitter

Not Dru making gloves for her brother in his least favourite colours but him wearing them anyway because they keep him warm and are made by his little sister 😭

and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.

black people. light a candle, write a note to those who have passed telling them what you have achieved in spite of the racist and intolerant conditions of this world, feel the warmth of the flame under your hand, say a prayer of rememberance if you are religious, place the note under the candle, and then blow it out.

if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.

I am so excited about TWP because Ty is my favorite character and we will finally see his POV!!! The only thing is that almost nobody talks about him unless they are talking about him in connection with Kit or Dru.

Soooooooo, this post is all about Ty and what I am excited to see with him:

Being a Centurion. It's going to be really interesting to see how this impacts the storyline and how the people around him react to it. I mean, he is going to be an elite shadowhunter soldier and maybe even Primi Ordines and nobody really talks about it :(

His view of Kit revealed. Ty is a very honest and straightforward character so I think we will see exactly how he feels about Kit plainly laid out in his POV (at least in his thoughts). Judging from how Livvy talks about him hurting even though she doesn't know what it is and his reaction to seeing Kit in SOBH, I think it is safe to say that he is deeply in love with Kit and I can't wait for him to talk about it. I believe it will be very beautiful but also heart wrenching

Irene content. Who doesn't love Irene? I am quite sure she will pop up frequently in TWP so I am SO excited for that! It will also be exciting to see how Kit and Dru feel about her :)

Interacting with other people. In past books we rarely see Ty interacting with people that aren't his family or close friends. I'm very excited to see how Ty interacts with the world and new people in TWP. How he has changed since QOAD and how he interacts with the world.

There you have it, I am a shameless Ty stan and I can't wait for TWP to come out!!!!! Do I have anymore Ty fans in the house that I can geek out with? What are you excited about for TWP?

Begging ppl who say 1st/2nd-person POV is cringe to read something other than (poorly written) fanfic. That's like saying "the color blue is cringe"

1st Person – More intimate than 3rd. Seamless blending of a character’s outside and interior world. Since everything filters through a POV character, it’s a great opportunity for flavor and a distinct voice.

Don’t forget classics like Frankenstein and Dracula, how did we come to the fact third person is the only “acceptable” way of writing when many stories were written in first person all the time?
