That's not what I was referencing at all, so you're quick to jump the gun on something you don't know about. But since you are posting this publicly, I will respond publicly.
Trans art was used as the example because at that time it was the issue at hand. And from someone I was pushed into a corner to claim someone was transphobic by someone I thought I was close with, when I was trying to find a solution for everyone.
The server I'm a part of has several members who do not want to see explicit art at all, and that's why we censor NSFW art---because NSFW covers many topics, not simply sex. Noone gives a fuck about them, apparently. Trans art simply opened the door to what it means to allow people to have consent over the content they're subjected to, and not because they are transphobic.
From the server in question (that was made for an entirely different reason, and who the person in question is no longer a part of, and ALSO that has mods and other members who identify as trans):
The indiscriminate use of spoilers on visual media and text in the NSFW channels is considered a controversial choice to some; however to ensure the safety and comfort of **all** of our members— **including** those who either suffer from body dysphoria, or who are **repulsed** by images and talk of nudity and sex, we **stand by** this implementation. Many servers treat the NSFW channels as the “Sex And Nudity” channels. **We do not.**
NSFW does not equal sexual content; as such, if you will be talking about sexually explicit content, please either utilize spoilers or---if it's an extensive conversation---utilize a thread with a CW warning. Members of this community would like to peruse NSFW content without being subjected to sexually explicit material.
Sold out? A piece of shit? Yes, but not the people or the reasons you spout. It was a huge mess that I didn't handle correctly, but everyone else involved didn't handle it well, either.
I stand by the end result of ensuring comfort. Unfortunately that comfort doesn't mesh for different people. No, we're not responsible for others' triggers, but we can try and be considerate.
AO3 fics have tags and spoilers. Art should be the same, because it has a greater impact because "a picture is worth a thousand words" and you are pushing that onto people without asking them. Being able to give consent and censorship are not the same thing. Trans art, as well as all other art, is welcome in the proper place and with the proper warning.
Again, this isn't what the original post was about, so I'm done here.
