folks if i am a big believer in anything it's if something is no longer bringing you joy... you can simply drop it... you are under no obligation to finish a book/film/tv show/game etc...
I don't know who needs to hear this but... start living. The days are flying by and all you do is work, pay bills, and stress. Enjoy what you can like walks, sunsets, music, laughter. Joy doesn't have to be expensive. You deserve it.
PETER PAN 2003 | dir. P. J. Hogan
I finally completed Pippin! Hopefully my cousin will love him (I'll be waiting until next month to find out).
today's fashion doll is: Barbie Earring Magic Ken (1992)
I took a three hundred question employment assessment. It included questions like:
Would you like working in a tunnel?
Would you like manipulating red hot metal?
Would you like to use explosives?
I replied negatively to every question involving the threat of serious bodily harm because I am clumsy and not to be trusted around dangerous implements (I have stabbed myself cutting a bagel).
I have no idea what this test is going to spit out for me because there were very few questions I answered in the positive. I just need something that won't kill me to bring me an income until I can go to graduate school.
Read an exclusive excerpt from the first original novel inspired by the beloved MASTERPIECE Mystery! series.
they're releasing a novel!!! I'm so keen
watching/rewatching a show when you already have an established favorite character is great because every time they come on screen it's like

Grace: *does something*
Rocky: "why Grace so 🎶🎶🎶 stupid. Question."
Grace: "Excuse me buddy?"
Rocky: "...🎶🎶🎶 stupid. Hmm. Need word."
Grace: "...what does it mean?"
Rocky: "Meant add strength to word. But some Eridians think also .....rude"
Grace: "So a swear word. I'm not giving you the human word for that."
Rocky: "Why not. Question."
Grace: "Because this human thinks they are rude too."
Rocky: "Do not be little 🎶🎶🎶 Grace. Give Rocky human swear word."
hey friends where is that picture of boromir with the gondor flag except its a pride flag?
Couldn’t find it so I made another because you’re right that it’s a crime and it’s definitely my duty to remedy it
Every day I am haunted by the fact that Jupiter Ascending was not based off of a million word space opera fantasy book series and that I cannot go to the library and take out like six door-stopper sized volumes of sheer unhinged gendervibes-y space werewolf bee queen batshittery where every new freudian space eugenicist villain talks like he's trying to eat the scenery's pussy out harder than the last guy. 😔
tbh a lot of my advice boils down to “hey you know that terrible horrible looming thing you’re doing your best to avoid and distract and escape as much as possible but no matter what you do it just keeps looming and looming and ruining your life”
“just, fuckign, run straight at it screaming.”

May Reading Recap
I spent most of May in a pain flare so it's probably not shocking that I read a ton of books. While I had intended to take part in two reading challenges, Mashed Potato May and Asian Readathon, I didn't complete either of them. But that's okay! I read a ton of good books and had a blast binging Villains are Destined to Die.
What I Read
Ring by Koji Suzuki ~ The inspiration for the famous horror flicks, Ring is surprisingly not scary. It mostly follows a journalist investigating mysterious deaths. It was boring, and also incredibly weird about intersex people in a way I did not anticipate.
Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan ~ Reread! I loved Long Live Evil even more the second time around. It was a blast catching all the foreshadowing and whatnot! The sequel is on my June TBR.
Villains are Destined to Die Vols. 1-6 ~ Inspired by my Long Live Evil reread, I picked up Villains are Destined to Die and promptly downed six volumes of it. This time around the heroine gets stuck as the villain in a dating sim. Thrilling times are had. I'm sad I'm almost caught up.
The Midwich Cuckoos by John Wyndham ~ I loved Wyndham's The Day of the Triffids, but The Midwich Cuckoos didn't work for me in the same way. I found it hard to suspend disbelief at how the whole slow alien invasion was handled by the government. Creepy but ultimately a let down.
Platform Decay by Martha Wells ~ YES! We're back! I have been longing for more standalone Murderbot stories (the last couple of books were too interconnected for my taste), and Platform Decay absolutely delivered on all the things I love most about Murderbot. Definitely one of my favorites in spite of ART not playing a major role.
Julie Chan is Dead by Liann Zhang ~ Influencer thriller! I had a lot of fun with this "Twin takes on her dead sister's famous persona" plot. The main character is unhinged, and I loved it.
Forgive-Me-Not by Mari Costa ~ Sorry to say that I've mostly forgotten what this one was about. A changeling princess falls in love with the girl she replaced? It was fine.
Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino ~ Give me more unhinged lady protagonists, please! Best Offer Wins is a thriller about a woman who will do anything to get her dream house. The best part is that I did not see the ending coming. Very fun!
Carl's Doomsday Scenario by Matt Dinniman ~ Reread! I still haven't gotten my copy of A Parade of Horribles so I continued my reread with DCC Book Two. My beloved Katia shows up towards the end of the this one so that alone makes it a favorite in the series.
The House of Quiet by Kiersten White ~ The X-Men meets Gothic House Horror. The pacing was SLOW and not in a way that built tension. There were some good ideas in this YA, but the execution was rough.
Best/Worst
Best ~ Platform Decay by Martha Wells
Worst ~ Ring by Koji Suzuki
