why is everyone pretending like things are back to normal now? governments wanna open up schools and universities again, the news is no longer reporting the covid-19 pandemic the way it was a month ago, people have started having get-togethers and birthday parties again and meanwhile scientists think that covid-19 is airborne now?! like... we're still in the middle of a fucking pandemic and it's worse than we thought. people are dying because they think things are "back to normal" again. no they're fucking not!! the government and the businesses just want your fucking money!! this is just capitalism at play because as usual, they don't give a fuck if you die as long as you just give them your money. so please wear a mask, please wash your hands and please socially distance!! and remember things are not back to normal!!!
ikr! our government also prioritizes unecessary policies and new laws for their own propaganda like implementing VATs for Netflix and other online platforms, a barrier for motorcycles to seperate the driver with the passenger (which is kinda unecessary since itâs in the rules that only married couples are allowed to ride in one bike and the barrier is useless âcause they live in the same household), etc.
the government knows that we canât protest outside so theyâre using this opportunity to implement laws for their own benefit
hello everyone! i thought i would share some keyboard shortcuts in notion that i use the most often and that save me the most time.
note: most actions from word processors, like ctrl + b for bold, will already work in notion!
#, ##, or ### + space to create large, medium, and small headings respectively
> + space to create a toggle block
/, the forward slash, lets you create any page you want. just type out what youâre looking for (i.e. page, table, link)
ctrl + \ toggles the sidebar on and off
ctrl + shift + n opens a new notion window (i use this for notetaking)
ctrl + shift + u lets you go up a level in the page hierarchy (i.e. from february to all months)
duplicate any content by holding option or alt and dragging. you can highlight as many blocks as you want
ctrl + / to change the type of blocks you have selected
ctrl + shift + p to move the page youâre on to another one (i like to use this for my article list to move them to my already read list
hope this helps :)
hello, iâm journaling again âïž
iâve been collecting old movie tickets and other mementos for a long time. iâve always been intrested in compiling them in a scrapbook, but i never got to do that. i just kept them in a box all these years. however, iâve recently started keeping them in a journal! iâve just been jotting down whatever i can remember about them. itâs been really fun to go through a few per day â remembering all these happy high school memories. it kind of makes me miss high school (wow, never thought i would say that asdhjdks).
// listening to: gfriend - tarot cards
Iâve never thought of keeping movie tickets or any other tickets on journals! Iâll try to do it next time.
iced coffee + bujo âïž
i have an online class today! after that, i have a zoom catch-up sesh with my friends. iâm super excited for that because i really miss them! iâm also about 70% done with my report, so i think i can finish it within the day (yay). have a great day, everyone âĄ
It took forever but I finally organized my drawers!
Show me yours! đ

SECOND YEAR IN COLLEGEÂ July 13, 2020
One month to go and my second year journey in college will finally start. I am both excited and nervous because itâs the first time we will have classes online. Our college donât use our cloud campus (online education platform we use) for academics cause they prefer teaching face-to-face. I also have a hard time studying on my laptop and iPad cause I have a bad eyesight and I donât want my eyes to get too much exposed on gadgets.
College might be stressful but I miss going to school except the commute part. It takes 2-3 hours for me to go to school due to heavy traffic. I also miss hanging out with friends. We barely chat each other this quarantine but weâre catching up whenever all of us are free. I also miss my special someone from another building (heâs a third year I.T student). Itâs been five months since the first time we met. We actually dated once because we met the week before we had quarantine in our country. Itâs kinda sad but I try to be optimistic everyday. I hope my country recovers soon from this pandemic T^T.Â

How to Fix your Sleep Schedule
Weâve all been there. Youâve been pushing back your bedtime for an entire week and now you feel exhausted and you donât think you can function as well as you normally could. You just want to get enough sleep again, but how?
Make small changes
Itâs a lot easier to push back your bedtime than to push it forwardâbut itâs not impossible. You just have to take it step by step. Go to sleep 15-30 minutes earlier every night until you reach your desired bedtime. You could try going to sleep much earlier than your regular time, but according that doesnât usually work out. If youâre waking up later than you want to, you might also want to try waking up 15 minutes earlier each morning until you get up at the desired time.
I remember there was a week this semester when I went to sleep at 1am for several days in a row (I usually sleep at 11). I was sleep deprived and exhausted and I tried to sleep at 8 to catch up on lost sleep, but I couldnât. I just laid in my bed for an hour until I gave up trying to sleep and decided to work on some homework until I felt sleepy again. What I shouldâve done was go to bed 15 minutes earlier each night until I could go to sleep at 11 again.
Adjust exposure to sunlight
Exposure to adequate amounts of sunlight is key to helping our bodies maintain their circadian rhythm, which is the process that regulates our energy levels during the day and tells us when to be awake and when to go to sleep. Sunlight helps our body produce optimal levels of melatonin, a hormone that makes us feel sleepy at night. Studies have shown that people get better quality sleep in the summer because there is a greater exposure to light.
That being said, you should expose yourself to more light during the day to get better sleep at night. This might mean waking up earlier so you donât miss hours of sunlight in the morning.
At night, you should reduce your exposure to any sort of light - both natural and artificial - so that your body knows itâs time to not be awake. I personally turn down the lights (and only have my fairy lights on) after 10:30 pm. When youâre trying to get back into your desired sleep schedule, you could aim to turn down the lights 30 minutes before your desired bedtime for that day.
Donât eat too close to bedtime
You should wait 2 - 3 hours between dinner/your last meal and bedtime. I would talk about how studies show that eating too close to bedtime can possibly damage your health, e.g. causing reflux when youâre lying down, but thatâs all been said before. The only thing Iâd like to reiterate is that you sleep better when you wait after you eat. But as for my own logic on why you shouldnât go to sleep when youâre fullâŠ
When you wait a few hours after youâve had your last meal, before you go to bed, you wonât go to bed full, meaning that in the morning, youâre likely to be hungry. I donât know about you, but I canât go back to sleep when Iâm, like, starving, so being hungry when I wake up causes me to resist sleeping in.
Donât sleep in
You would think that sleeping in is, in fact, good for catching up on sleep. In reality, it doesnât make you stop sleeping late, since youâd probably still spend the same amount of time awake. Instead, once you wake up, you should stay up, and donât go back to sleep. Youâre likely to get sleepy at an earlier time, and this will help you push forward your bedtime.
Resist napping
Resisting naps also has a similar logic to not sleeping in. If you take a nap, youâll feel more energetic and night, and you might not be able to fall asleep as soon as you wanted to. If you resist taking a nap, however, youâll be more tired at night, and youâll fall asleep more easily.
Be strict with yourself
Finally, the key to having a good, consistent sleep schedule is to be strict with yourself. Donât let yourself stay up for just 5 more minutes because you still have a âsmallâ task to take care of. When itâs time to end the day, end the day.
Maybe itâs hard for you to be strict with yourself since you canât justify going to sleep over completing whatever task or responsibility you have left. Well, hereâs my logic:
You could stay up 5 more minutes and risk extending that to a few hours or so in attempt to finish something. Thereâs no guarantee that youâll finish it, and you might just lose all those precious hours of sleep for nothing, since youâll wake up in the morning tired and unable to effectively do the task you wanted to do; or
You could stop everything youâre doing and sleep on it. You wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and clear-headed and ready to tackle on your tasks for the day. You find a new way to think about the task you were stuck on, and you finally solve it in less than half an hour.
I do realize that this only applies if the task isnât super urgent. Letâs say you have a project due 11:59 PM and youâre rushing to finish that. In this case, the core problem is probably something else: an inability to manage your time, or procrastination. If thatâs the case, you might want to check out my posts on how to beat procrastination and how to create an efficient (revision) schedule. The latter post is tailored for exam preparation, but the main ideas are the same for general scheduling (thereâs a recap at the bottom if you just want to know the main ideas).
Additionally, you might wanna check out my post on my night routine.
And thatâs all I have for you today! Hope this was helpful, and if you have any questions, feel free to drop me an ask or message me. Have an awesome day :)
Hi this post is very helpful but how do you be strict with yourself getting up in the morning?
in order to get anything done, you gotta have 1) motivation, and 2) willpower. the easiest way to boost willpower is to trigger it with something you canât avoid.
for example, one of the things you can try is setting a really loud and annoying alarm and putting your alarm clock/phone somewhere far from your bed. one time i used a recording of myself singing as my alarm so ofc when i hear my own voice in the morning im all like nope gotta shut that off rn before anyone else hears.
you could also sleep with the curtains and window/s open so the light and sound in the morning will wake you up - this might not work as well if youâre a deep sleeper, though.
itâd be even better if you could set a deadline in the morning, e.g. finish all errands by lunch time or call someone at 9am, so when you wake up you would think, âwait what time is it? im supposed to be doing X!â and thatâll get you to wake up

please make sure that wherever youâre at in life, you donât treat it like a transitory period. donât waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. donât waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while itâs important to better yourself and reach for your goals, donât neglect the present because thatâs where you are now and itâs your now that determines your future.Â
How to Avoid Over-Thinking
1. When you feel bogged down and you canât clear your mind, do something physical or get some exercise.
2. Set a time limit for your âthinking timeâ then make yourself move on to doing something else.
3. Interrupt the thinking process or distract yourself by diverting your attention onto something very different.
4. Stop discussing what concerns you with everyone you meet as youâll just end up confused, and you wonât know what to do.
5. Accept that uncertainty is part of this life, and we donât have all the facts, or know whatâs further down the road.
6. Throw yourself into a project, a hobby or some work. That will force you to refocus on something else instead.
7. Let your mind go blank and just relax for a while. It will help you see more clearly when you start to think, next time.
a small guide on how i battle my essays! (click on an image to view it clearer)Â
(keep in mind: iâm an english major so a majority of my essays are literature-focused!)
these are just some of the methods i want to share that work for me when i write my innumerable amount of essays! iâm definitely a huge planner so itâs no secret that i spend a lot of time on an essay. if youâre a deadline fighter, these tips might not necessarily be helpful (especially the handwriting one). but i hope this gives you an insight on how i write my essays! đ
