We know your favorite Avatrice Season 2 scene (which, you are right, and the whole scene is offensive), but what about Season 1?

This may be an unpopular answer, actually, but?? I think it's this scene, where Beatrice makes a pun right back at her.

I think specifically because it's not one of the bigger ones -- Beatrice essentially coming out to Ava, or one of the times when Ava is training to get through the twenty feet of stone, or even the infamous "there's always more" talk (they have a lot of good scenes together!) -- as to why this scene is just so important to me.

This scene, to me, is Beatrice taking a step towards Ava that says, We are not totally separate beings. It's a mental olive branch, the pun, and it's Beatrice telling Ava We can meet in the middle. It doesn't have to be Ava cracking silly jokes and Beatrice rolling her eyes over them, they can both do that -- and this is also, I think, Beatrice's first real acceptance that she's starting to have feelings for her.

god can we stop softening the term "disabled". disabled isn't a dirty word. it's not "special abilities" or "differently abled" or whatever the fuck you want to call it. people have disabilities that cause life to be hard and there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that?? it feels so invalidating when people are like "ohh you're not disabled!!! you have special abilities!!" like. omg a) it feels so infantilizing. b) by saying that you're basically saying our struggles aren't real...? some conditions are disabling. it's not hard to understand?? like there is NOTHING wrong with being disabled & using the word disabled. it's not offensive it's not a dirty word can we take the shame out of it pls oh my god. this goes for physical & non physical disabilities btw
