Do it! Write the fic of Steve telling Bucky everything special about him is from a bottle. Make us all weep!!!!! (Your tags already did, but see if you can make us graduate to full on blubbing). (Bonus points if you can somehow include him saying it back to Tony at some point once they're actually friends and Tony showcasing some hard-core regret).
This isn’t quite your prompt, but it’s what happened.
Tony wasn’t sure why he woke up to one James Barnes sitting at his kitchen table, calmly cleaning a gun like he has no where else to be, but there he was and here was Tony, so apparently this was the way today was going to be. Tony sighed, and made his way to the coffee pot, and found it empty.
Barnes still had yet to even acknowledge Tony’s existence in any way. Which, you know, whatever. As long as it didn’t involve a body count, Tony was good with Barnes doing whatever that screwy, long haired head of his wanted. It was as Tony was scooping the ground coffee beans into the machine that Barnes said, more casual than Tony had ever heard him, “You know, one time Steve got pneumonia because he went to the store for our pregnant neighbor. No one else was around to go and there was this huge blizzard, so he went. He almost died. Did it again the next year for the widow across the hall.”

There is a 99% chance that they're going to fuck up Wonder Woman. That they're going to utterly destroy everything that makes her someone we all can/have looked up to.
But that 1% is what I'm riding on. I am pinning all my hopes on that one percent, even though I know full well that it's that 99% that's going to win out.
My brain understands that I am going to become enraged. And yet still.
time to bring this back. thanks, goyer.

Another lovely She-Hulkie for my dash! (There has been a wonderful sidebenefit to this whole shitstorm. So many new She-Hulkie posts to reblog!)
"So the Hulk was this classic male power fantasy. It’s like, most of the people reading comic books were these people like me who were just these little kids getting the shit kicked out of them every day… And so then they created She-Hulk, right? Who was still smart… I think She-Hulk is the chick that you could fuck if you were Hulk, you know what I’m saying? … She-Hulk was the extension of the male power fantasy. So it’s like if I’m going to be this geek who becomes the Hulk then let’s create a giant green porn star that only the Hulk could fuck."
Man of Steel Sequel Writer David Goyer Calls Marvel’s She-Hulk “A Giant Green Porn Star,” Insults Geeks
FLAMES! ON THE SIDE OF MY FACE!
Wow, David Goyer. You are a piece of shit.

SHE’S HIS COUSIN. I mean, it’s a disgusting thing to say but it’s also essentially inaccurate, because if you’re going to give Hulk a girlfriend he won’t break, you don’t make it HIS COUSIN.
In actuality, the reason She-Hulk was created was that the Hulk television show was taking off in a huge way, and Marvel wanted to ensure that they owned the rights to a female Hulk should one be written into the show, because a similar issue had previously arisen with the Bionic Man and the Bionic Woman. Stan Lee personally created her as a legal move.
Which is not perhaps the most glamorous or feminist of reasons for her to exist, but for Christ’s sake, it’s not so Hulk has someone to fuck. BECAUSE SHE’S HIS COUSIN.
Show of hands who’s shocked this guy is working for DC.
*cricket chirp*
That’s what I thought.

The real issue is that this guy is A. writing a DAMN MULTIMILLION DOLLAR MOVIE. This isn’t some brainless fratboy twit doing a junk job on some D list character. DC is having him write a MASS MARKET MOVIE. And B. he’s too damn stupid to know how amazingly misogynistic he sounds when he speaks, on the record, about an iconic female character who, honestly, pretty much gets all the booty she wants. One of the joys of the early Avengers/Shulkie stuff is how many guys just trip over themselves following her around looking stunned. The guys she picks up. LITERALLY. He doesn’t get it. He just looks and thinks, ugh, ‘only the Hulk.’ Because she’s not his idea of female attractiveness and he can’t understand that anyone could think otherwise.
Also the cousin thing. The cousin thing is gross.

Can we all just take a moment to imagine what Bucky would have done if he heard Tony tell Steve “Everything special about you came out of a bottle”
#rip tony (x)
Instead of "Put the suit on, we'll go a few rounds" it would have been Bucky punching Tony in the face after a beat of incredulous silence and then Steve going "BUCKY nice shot"
THAT LITTLE CHAIR THO
Tiny Downey JR. He could probably fit in those bottles you used to catch healing fairies in in Legend of Zelda.

That sounds cool. BUT HOW DOES IT WORK?
(Helicarrier Hulk wakes up, no control, attacks everyone. New York Hulk is good guy buddy only hurt bad guy. Wait! OK! Loki was harshing the vibe on the helicarrier. No, wait further, Loki was just as there in New York. In fact, quite close to Mr. Grabby Hulk.)
I am continually drawn to this dumb film by the interaction between Downey and Ruffalo. I am continually put off by this dumb film by how dumb it is.
Wow, look at this! It’s 2014, and people are still saying things like this! Amazing!!! :D Here, let me explain to you why, and how:
First of all, why do people keep forgetting that The Incredible Hulk happened?? In that film it was shown that Bruce can actually control the Hulk when he deliberately hulks out.
Please notice that Bruce hulked out on the helicarrier because something blew up and he was thrown so hard he fell one floor down through the window. It was obvious that Bruce was hurt and in danger.
Hulk exists to protect Bruce, Bruce was in danger, you do the math.
Not to mention that Bruce was understandably angry at Natasha and Fury because he felt like they’d lied to him. (Therefore, causing Hulk to went after Natasha).
Manhattan Hulk showed up because Bruce ‘asked’ him to. Because he fucking did it on purpose. The Hulk is the physical manifestation of Bruce’s emotions — all his anger, frustration, empathy, sadness, disappointment, sympathy, love, hate, everything. That’s why Hulk knew which are the bad ones and which are the good ones, that’s why he saved Tony from falling off the sky, that’s why he listened to Steve’s orders. Hulk isn’t just some mindless beast who has no feelings whatsoever. He recognised and saved Betty in the midst of his rampage in TIH, looked hesitant when he saw the fear in Natasha’s eyes (it was brief but it was there), punched Thor as a payback, etc. Hulk is not that simple.
Bottom line is, that Bruce can control the Hulk to some degree when he has the option or actually gets to choose, and that’s not what happened on the helicarrier.
So, yea, that’s how.
In this post the uneducated are taught that The Hulk isn’t a mindless monster born simply out of rage.
Imagine being included for once
I imagine Bisexual Steve Rogers would be terribly disappointed to discover that non-binary people were being shut out and erased in all those Imagine Bisexual Steve posts.
I imagine Steve would never use phrases like “both genders” and would insist on the correct definition of bisexual: attraction to same and other genders.
I imagine Steve cares about people like me, too.
I fell like Steve Rogers would feel uncomfortable around homosexuals, transexuals, gender fluid people, and anyother type of person. but Im sure he would gradually accept them
gonna have to disagree with you on this one
not only has steve seen some seriously weird ass shit in his long life, shit that would make non-binaries, transgender folks, and people who aren’t heterosexual seem as ordinary as they actually are, steve lived in one of New York City’s queerest neighborhoods. One of his best friends was gay. seriously, I think he’d be more weirded out by the Tea Party than people of varying sexualities and genders.
Steve Rogers has dealt with Nazi's. With a man whose FACE peeled off to reveal the worst sunburn known to man underneath; literally, a thing of nightmares. He, himself, turned from a beanpole into a solid wall of muscle and strength and speed in the span of practically fifteen minutes. He flew a plane into the ocean knowing full well it was a suicide mission-- that he then woke up from.
In the future.
Where he then fought gods and aliens. His teammates consisted of a woman who could give him a run for his money in a sparring match, a man in a robotic suit, one of said gods, a man who was fully prepared to go into battle not two hours after shaking off some seriously damaging mind control and a mild mannered scientist. Who transformed into an enormous green rage monster.
Anyone who says that Steve Rogers would be squeamish, awkward, uncomfortable and/or do anything other than accept people of varying sexualities and genders with a smile and a "Swell to meet you." is severely mistaken.
Bruce likes playing games. He's got folders of them on his Starkpad-- some he's downloaded himself, and some(read: most) he finds have appeared overnight on it. Things like Candy Crush Saga, Sudoku, Splashy Fish-- mostly safe games that Bruce can amuse himself over when he's waiting for results in the lab or something to pass the time while the team argues amongst themselves over Movie Night.
They're good. They're safe. Distracting. Less likely to get his heartrate up than most of what else he could be doing.
And then there are the other games.
Fruit Ninja. Angry Birds. Those games that are designed to get the heart pumping and rage curling thick and heavy in your stomach-- those games that Bruce should be avoiding without a thought, that he shouldn't love to play.
He does. He loves them. They're an outlet; a safe haven to let out his frustrations because Bruce has good hands and a good eye and he rocks those games.
(Except Flappy Bird.
Somehow, Bruce never got the hang of Flappy Bird. He never maintained his patience for Flappy Bird. Every time Bruce played Flappy Bird(four separate times, just before the game disappeared from every Starkpad he got his hands on and which JARVIS refused to allow for downloading again) Bruce, inevitably, hulked out.)
Here’s the thing.
I read a lot of scripts. A lot. From professionals to aspiring writers to complete newbies. Features and pilots. Specs and treatments.
And 8 times out of 10 the fan fic that I’ve read over the last, oh, 15 years is leagues better than this stuff. It’s...
Free Comic Book Day is tomorrow, guys! May third, that's right, ahh yeah. Everyone have fun with yo' comics and stay safe.
Paper cuts hurt, okay.
Bucky interrupting awkward silences with “man, I would give my left arm for a burger right now” and everybody freezes for a second until Steve lets out a really ugly snort and just starts pissing himself laughing
