Down the memory lane

One random day, when you're sitting all by yourself, you realize what a mess you have become. Your heart starts beating a bit faster. Your focus shifts over the thumping sound, and then you starts to hyperventilate. You starts to look for the reason for the explanation why your'e feeling this way, because you want that control, the balance, for you to feel better. So you enter into the spiral case of thoughts that leads nowhere. Up and down, you look around for the reasons. Scrolling down the pictures, the exact date or time, the mistake, the action, the word, that might have brought to your demise.

You search and search and search. It starts to feel like walking barefoot over the broken glass. And as far ahead you go, the shredded glass go deeper and thinner.

You eventually exhaust yourself, as all the reasons surround you by circling around you. You grab on to the floor to keep your breathe steady but then realizes, you're claustrophobic. And eventually, your mind does the trick. It puts you to sleep. And the whole circle starts again the next day.

But here's the thing: you cannot. The state you're in, the rock bottom, it wasn't the result of one single blow. You've been taking hits after hits, day after day, word after word, betrayal after betrayal that brought you where you're now.

So no matter how much you look around, to find a reason or to find someone to put a blame on... you may find more than one culprit. And sometimes...the reason could be surprisingly, yourself.
