rodstrangeâ:
Rodolphus turned at his waist, craning his neck to look up at the girl now as she spoke to him. The castle offered very little light, but itâs faint luminosity he could make out the pale brilliance of blonde hair and fair skin. A dainty girl, perhaps younger than him. It begged a question that sat at the tip of his tongue; why are you here? But he didnât ask. Not right away. Instead his dark stare lie trained on her face as she spoke. She jested along with him, without any regard to how his temper might flare; offered wit in rebut to the grief he had offered her.
In the moment⊠That was good enough. He lazily extended an arm, the one with olive fingers wrapped tightly around the neck of the bottle. Rod gave it a healthy shake, turning his head back to the lake that sat idly off in the distance. âWhisky. Cheap. Disgusting.â He smirked, though he was sure it remained invisible beneath the veil of night. Rodolphus gave his head a sharp nod in the direction of the spot next to him against the rock. âSit.â It wasnât a command, but rather permission. âYouâve already flown the coop. May as well enjoy yourself while youâre at it.â Rodolphus Lestrange playing⊠Nice? Anyone with half a brain would do well to soak it up while it lasted.
Gracie was very focused on him, there was not enough light to see his face but it was alright for now, he was offering her a distraction from the castle and her own illness. She watched as he extended his arm and shook the bottle, as she squinted to try to read the label he spoke out again to state what he was drinking so she set her vision back to normal and just looked at him again. When he told her to sit down she hesitated, keeping her distance at first but deciding that he was right, if she was going to put in the effort to sneak out of the castle she may as well enjoy her time here.
She walked over and sat on the rock next to him, now that she could see his face more clearly she realized he was quite... handsome. Not that she would admit that to anyone. âSo what are you doing out here tonight?â She asked, leaning back on her hands and tilting her head at him. âWhat has you so done with things that you need to come out and drink alone.â
