there's a common belief that artists know how to make art. this is untrue. i've yet to meet a single artist who has any idea what they're doing

sometimes i'm like "UGH why can't i do this it's so easy for almost everyone else, why is this eating up every part of me??" and then i remember i'm literally disabled. like just because i can walk and everything doesn't mean i'm not disabled. i hold myself to such a stupid ass standard compared to how i hold everyone else it's like unreasonable. still coming to terms with some things i guess
having a headache while hydrated is so unfair. you were supposed to protect me.

re: last reblog i think this is a benefit of being married to someone who had such a different upbringing to me like. We have a lot of similarities but we also grew up very differently, in very different places, and this obviously effects how we view things and our opinions about the world and we've been able to teach each other a lot just by talking about our lived experiences.
listening to people different from you is always a good idea. it's gonna be kind of embarrassing or uncomfortable to be wrong especially if you are Often Wrong/misinformed/formerly intentionally ignorant of certain stuff but it's imperative that you accept that. being wrong is human but growth is also human. in order to grow we gotta accept we are gonna be incorrect. probably a lot. I struggle to admit this sometimes and i can be stubborn but i'm better for it when i zip it and just listen/think over things people tell me. even if it takes some time and pushing through some shame. through that discomfort comes enlightenment and understanding
Me when I remember something I said ages ago that was wrong or my values no longer align with
it doesn't matter to cats what kind of bad week you're going through, they'll come into your room and start doing repeated bulldozer attacks on you
