Spencer looks like he would make a great Joker!
God I can't get over this part of the song. I'm very obsessed with it. The way his filter drops at "you ain't won yet" like he means that shit. I can't wait for Vox to get his shit rocked
I also love this is Alastor reaching the end of his patience at his situation that he very much willingly and intentionally put himself in. Alaator KNEW Vox wouldn't be able to resist saying no to this deal. Alastor knew Vox would be INSUFFERABLE about his 'victory.' Alastor knew Vox would be too hyped up on the high of winning and having Alastor as his prisoner that he wouldn't be able to look closer at the Why on this ridiculously easy situation that landed in his lap.
But still, Alastor has been dealing with the pain or his wounds, being tied up and carted around on a deranged and pathetic victory parade as Vox publically and LOYDLY humiliates him. Forces him into obvious date scenarios, but never letting him speak or contribute to the situation. Then he gets paraded around Vox co and his entire while Vox continues to be insufferable about his vicfory. Then he has sex?? In front of him?? Maybe did a deranged strip tease and threw his clothes at him? Completely flashes him? And then Alastor hust finally can't take it anymore and just snaps during the duet.
Vox is rubbing it in that Alastor is completely helpless and accidentally paralleling his encounter with Rosie, and he just can't take the insufferable prick's attitude and lets his temper slip out he has not won yet bitch.
He temporarily drops all pretense about being helpless and at Vox's mercy, but Vox is - once again - too blinded by his euphoria at having Alastor in his clutches that he doesn't clock the slip up. Doesn't clock that Alastor has a scheme he's cooked up that requires him to be right where he's at. In Vox's custody.
I am extremely intrigued at what Alastor is up to that he'd be willing to put up with any of that, what his plan is, and how he's going to come out on top.
I wonder if part 2 of Alastorâs plan involves Charlie and the favor she owes him. He did make it very clear she wasn't to be harmed.
I'm on AO3 and every other Hazbin Hotel fic has the tag âVoxâs One-Sided Psychosexual Obsession with Alastorâ.
Somehow I would not be surprised if Vox has a secret shrine dedicated to Alastor that would not look out of place in a serial killerâs house.
That's my worry too.
I can't shake the feeling no matter who the shooter is or what their motivation the right wing will always blame the most vulnerable. Whether its trans people, people of color, immigrants, women, or just people who disagree with their ideology. The right wing would rather set the blame on everyone they dontblike instead of looking at the real problem.
I hope everyone can stay safe during these dark days. At least I hope they wont be as dark as I dread.
That's a fantastic question, especially when you consider that the western half of the US was founded on the railway. (Not getting into the historical implications and persecution of the native people at the time... this is purely about transportation.)
We have the basic infrastructure for rail travel, and there is an existing network of passenger trains. My experience with them isn't great, but Amtrak does exist - it certainly isn't "high speed," though, and is subject to many of the same wintertime delays as traveling by automobile.
I'm pretty sure, like everything else, it comes down to money and infrastructure. If only we could get a progressive enough government that could work to start the necessary upgrades to build a functional high-speed rail network...
You forgot about being able to move around on the train and less claustrophobic.
Also, bullet trains or something similar are freaking cool!
We live in the dumbest, lamest cyberpunk dystopia possible.
So LA has been â and continues to â protest against ICE. These protests havenât gotten any smaller or lost any momentum, but social media wasnât reflecting it.
TikTok users, realizing that the platform/other social media are censoring/deleting/shadowbanning these protest videos, decided to find a workaround.
Theyâre calling it the LA Music Festival. Ice detention centers and other protest locations are âstages.â The hottest band is Rage Against the Machine. âHereâs what gear you should be bringing to stay safe at the LA Music Festival.â
And it fucking worked.
TikTok has become a proving ground for a lot of new music, meaning lots of labels and organizations have lucrative deals with TikTok to promote their new artists and music festivals. So they absolutely cannot censor the words âmusic festivalâ or train the algorithm to ignore it, or they risk endangering that very important revenue.
So now protest videos are flooding feeds again, but itâs the LA 24/7 Music Festival. Truly an incredible timeline weâve landed in.
During the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s, radio broadcasts would refer to upcoming marches as "parties" and use other such euphemisms to sneak calls to organize past censors. For example, the Birmingham marches of 1963 were called "a field trip in the park with a luncheon".
This is, frankly, a timeless strategy, just done online.
This is amazing, I love it.
Lately I've been enjoying the power of Being On a Mailing List to learn about protest actions near me and what's going on with the resistance. Everything old is new again.
Do you think Book Festival can work as well since authors and reviewers use TikTok as way to reach out readers and people in the industry? BookTok does a large following.
Alien: Earth has confirmed something about Tech Bros like Boy Cavelier we already knew about: They are dangerous idiots.
Seriously, what sane person thinks putting a dying eleven year oldâs mind into an adult looking robot body and think that's a good idea?
And there's the whole âfinders keepersâ attitude with dangerous unknown alien specimens, one of which went on a massive killing spree. Like he's a little kid finding new toys.
I just hope that the future presented in the Alien franchise is preventable. With people like Cavelier in charge, it seems more like nightmare fuel before you throw in the Xenomorph.
Considering what Varang said, I imagine that the idea of the Mangkwan (or at least, her) not being connected to Eywa, could possibly be framed, not as a bad thing, but as a variation.
I dont like the idea of connecting spirituality/religiosity to goodness or protagnonism and athiesm or less-religiosity to antagonism. As someone whos not religious, I think thats lame, from a storytelling standpoint, I think thats too cliché.
But I think Varang's stance on Eywa from what she said in the trailer could be interpreted as a different lifestyle the Mangkwan live. I dont like to interpret Eywa as some sort of sentient being or force, bc Id rather stick to more sci-fi themes and also I think thats a little boring (it makes sense some Naive personify neural connections and memory storage of the biosphere as a diety but Id rather interpret the phenomena in the worldbuilding as phenomena). I think what Varang's stance could mean is that we see more variations of lifestyles, motivations, and beliefs systems of the Na'vi. I think the idea of a clan being disconnected from the belief of a world spirit almost is important to further flesh out the Na'vi as believable people, rather than particularly noble or hiveminded.
Im rlly interested and a little concerned about how what Varang said will play a role in the plot. This movie is definitely a lot darker than the previous and seems like a lot more elements about beliefs and sides will become more blurred. I anticipate how Varange and the Mangkwan will be characterized considering their design and introduction in the trailer.
The Mangkwan when through a natural disaster caused by a volcanic eruption, do you think its possible the disaster cut off the survivorsâ connection to Eywa? Either physically or mentally?
So yautjas and dinosaurs?...
Noah's arc'd them before the asteroid hit to another planet
revived them and made a Jurassic Park planet
Those are just aliens that coincidentally look exactly like them
Dinosaurs were always aliens
I've got another idea
How is those first two so perfectly balanced!?
Is anyone else thinking Jurassic Park x Predator crossover?
TELL ME WHY i just now learned that the mountaineers named their son after Sam???
I was working on reaching 5 stars with a few preppers after completing the main story and now my heart is so warm??? what the heck???
I get the feeling âSamâ will become a very popular baby name.
terfs would lose their minds if they were exposed to 2000s-2010s "a girl can do anything a boy can do, including beating them at sports" messaging like why are you all acting like nobody has ever said this and that it's radical to think that women aren't inherently worse at things. open your mind. read some feminist theory. touch some grass. the most basic banal middle-class white woman feminism of the 2010s looks fucking radical and visionary compared to the misogynistic victimization complex y'all are peddling
