why are the most powerful people in the world all such whiny fucking babies now
hungry critters
thereâs nothing that canât be fixed by eating your bodyweight in sushi
âbody shamingâ and its recognizing nearly every celebrity in american media is either succumbing to extreme eating disorders that clearly r making them sickly or pushing things like ozempic bc ppl r obsessed with skinniness to the point of being ok with dying bc of it âŚ.i for one think its more shameful that this has become so normal that ppl think ur weird for saying this isnt how the world should be đ
feminist killjoy hours again, what the actual fuck is âweird girl literatureâ and how often do we acquiesce to the latest degrading gendered advertising campaigns
Women did not fucking pioneer horror, thriller, and science fiction as we know it for publishing to infantilize it into a high school phase
is Stephen king âweird boy literatureâ? Or does he get to be an adult horror novelist?
#also Iâve noticed weird girl lit is overwhelmingly white. you can write a book abt a white woman reacting horrifically to external forces#(such as patriarchy) and its quirky weird girl lit!! but a main character of color. no thatâs horror now.#just to add another layer to the infantilization aspect. via @hampdencollege -
Iâm really glad you raised this as well! Was touching on it in the comments but this is another notable aspect to it; the weird girl is a usually-thin, usually-cis, and usually white creation - the name evokes an infantilized fragile outsider that fits âTim Burtonâs aestheticâ in all senses of the phrase, who curbs and defangs her aberrances from social norms (usually, her reaction to patriarchy) via the concessions of fitting these standards, via still being pretty and palatable and privileged, and itâs no mistake - patriarchal infantilization of women is of structured around notions of innocent white womanhood. The literature by and about woc and their experiences is relegated often to being simply novels About Race and not gender as well no matter how that factors into the narrative from what Iâve seen
Im always scared to call someone my friend because what if they dont consider me a friend and hate me because of that
My woke take, as someone who has worked in both a public library and a school library, is that we desperately need both more books that are at a higher reading level but a less mature subject matter, and more books that are at a lower reading level but a more mature subject matter, because 8 year olds who are advanced readers are still 8 year olds and don't want to read about graphic violence and torture, and teens and adults who have learning difficulties or who are just later readers for whatever reason are still teens and adults and don't want to read about Billy the Bunny going to school or whatever the hell.
Shoutout to people in the notes also mentioning people learning the language, I should've mentioned that really, given that I've been stuck reading German picture books myself while learning German.
Sometimes âlocking inâ looks like sitting in the sun and remembering that your life is also meant to be lived, not just optimized, monetized, and turned into proof that youâre worthy.
Idk who OP is but yeah
itâs amazing how women are able to navigate crowded rooms without ever touching a palm to a manâs lower back
you'd think occasionally men would need to touch other men like this to manoeuvre them out of the way but it never happens

I hate when men smirk and gloat and say shit like âWomen are attracted to powerful men,â like that negates any feminist impulse, like they think that at the heart of all women is this little, mincing girl that wants to be dominated.
I just roll my eyes because, dude. If you ever read the second half of any fucking harlequin novel ever, and saw how the hero always ends up blubbering on his knees and saying shit like âI canât live without you! You unman me!â youâd realize that being attracted to powerful men is just the first part of a two-step plan.
The second step is to completely fucking annihilate him.
