Some counterarguments to how some people have chosen to interpret the drink voucher scene

I have seen people argue that the blue-and-pink voucher just represents Ralsei caring about Kris, or Kris and Susie, instead of hinting at Ralsei potentially being trans

The first problem with this argument is that A: Kris is (as far as i know) never referred to as blue and pink; they are only referred to as blue, and B: Susie is never referred to as pink; the game consistently refers to her as purple

Secondly, Flowery tells Ralsei to choose for themself, without worrying about what other people (specifically Kris) want; if this were about Ralsei just caring about/having a crush on Kris, this would come off as Flowery telling Ralsei to ignore Kris' boundaries

Thirdly, if you try to skip this scene, the game explicitely tells you it's important, and Ralsei caring about Kris and Susie is very obvious at this point. Additionally Ralsei hinting at being more powerful than they let on also happens in other scenes later in the chapter (Ralsei destroying the shuriken with fire magic, and the stairway scene with Flowery to be exact)

Another somewhat related argument, that I have seen, is that Flowery calls everyone princess, when that is only half true; while Flowery does compare the Fun Gang to princesses as a group, the only other times he calls a single person princess is with Susie, which he does multiple times throughout the chapter, while he only calls Ralsei princess in a scene where only the two of them are present, where he also tells Ralsei to have faith in themself, and to not worry about what other people want.

ig since this is getting some amount of attention i'll also use this post to educate about the problem to the best of my ability (if anyone wants to chip in about it be my guest im certainly not the most qualified). and yes i get yall are upset about the porn bots but this isn't about bots this is about our sisters being harassed and threatened and having their accounts wrongly terminated. 2 years ago The CEO of Tumblr continuously terminated a trans woman and her alts and then continued to harass her on Twitter, threatening to call the cops if she continued to dispute the wrongful terminations of her blogs. Threatened to call A Person With A Gun to her home over an "explode him with hammers" type post. Trans women have been a continuous target for unjust termination by Tumblr's moderation staff regardless of their blog's content for years, and have failed to step in against users who harass trans women for a long ass time.

UNLESS THE PERSON YOU ARE TALKING TO HAS MADE IT CLEAR THEY DONT WANT TO BE CALLED DUDE!

I don't know why everyone has to be such an asshole all the time instead of just being fucking nice and calling people what they ask you to call them.

It's driving me insane that we can't just BE NICE to each other. Kindness is free. We could get so much more done for so many people with just an ounce of BEING NICE.

So here's the unfortunate thing: I can't read fucking minds.

I typically don't know that the person I'm talking to is a trans person until they tell me so. I, unfortunately, dont know when someone is upset or uncomfortable until they tell me so.

I also think that there has to be a regional or generational difference in the use of the word dude. I have always used and taken dude to be a completely gender neutral term, and so do the people in my life as far as I know. It's just a casual way to refer to someone.

I would never have even thought about the word dude being upsetting to someone, and I am more than happy to avoid using it for anyone who asks me to.

I am actually sorry that trans people have to go out of their way more than other people to voice when language makes them uncomfortable, I know that it has to be frustrating and draining, but unless you wear a pin that says "don't call me dude" I have no way of knowing it will upset you until you tell me.

There's a Standard Trans Debate Argument that goes something like

"It's concerning that there's a skew in the gender ratio of youth transitioners, it means that more young people falsely believe themselves to be trans men!"

"No it doesn't, the trans women catch up later in life so the ratio ends up at 50/50, this is a non-issue"

And while the moral panic around young trans men has always been nonsense I do wish there was more critical engagement with the mass suppression of young trans girls who don't feel safe enough to pursue transition until adulthood issue. Like you almost never hear anyone who's not a trans woman talk about that part of the equation.

The problem here is that not many trans women feel comfortable enough to come out until ADULTHOOD, when SIGNIFICANTLY more trans men are able to come out before adulthood. This isn't "making a transmasc-specific issue about ourselves", this is addressing an issue with how trans women are treated by the world compared to trans men. Right now, you're trying to deny a very real problem with how trans women are treated simply because you don't feel like addressing it. You are EXTREMELY transmisogynistic if you can't realize that this isn't a problem for transmasc people. I'm not that denying some transmascs have similar experiences, but it's far more common in transfem people and we need to make that known.
