Who am I?

I am Grima Karsidottir, a budding rune caster!

I go by they/them and am about 30. I personally follow Tyr, but I reach out to any kind deity willing to work with me when needed.

How did I get into rune casting?

It's a bit complicated! I never felt a calling to Methodist or Xtian teachings in general but found a call to the Norse pantheon a couple years ago. I'm still exploring what faith means to me!

How do I cast runes?

I follow specific setups and meanings for rune placement but I often have the seeker close their eyes, speak their question, and choose the runes blindly when face to face. I do the same when pulling for a seeker! Sometimes I invoke a specific god or say a small prayer as I pull.

I’m honestly surprised there are no movie/series adaptations of Norse myths that ever thought of: The Prose Edda, written by Snorri Sturluson. But the part where It literally opens with Aegir and Bragi, recounting the stories of the Æsir. That setup right there fits right into the old fairytale vibes and storytelling frame before you're launched into one heck of a good time!

As I was writing the second-half of the Into to Heathenry module, I started writing about altars, and as I was working on it, I realized I needed to write a post on how to build and maintain one...so here it is! How to build an altar!

I'm sure i've made a post like this before but i do need people to realize that "religion" is not immediately synonymous with "christianity". Someone can be deeply religious and not a christian, or even part of an abrahamic religion at all. And i also need people to realize, especially if you're european or american and surrounded by christian framework, that most religions function completely differently from christianity.

I've seen one too many posts about how religion is all just big organizations mass conditioning people and as someone part of a disorganized, anti-orthodox religion it really kills me
