Hey guys! I never used this as much as I thought I would and now a lot has changed in my life and I probably won't be using this again.

Weird One!
Not really sure what my train of thought was here... But I decided it was a good idea to go to the gym and train back after a backshift and no food for 5 hours. Done my regular back workout then went for deadlifts. 8 reps at 70kg 6 reps at 100kg 4 reps at 120kg 1 rep at 140kg Then 1 rep at 155kg Bit all over the shop... but hey! New PB!
I. Am. Burst! 10 GRIT classes. 3 Kettlercise classes. 1 Body Attack class. 1 Body Pump class. 45 & a 1/2 hours at work. What a week! Time to settle back down and have some chill time!
Finally hit my 150kg deadlift! I prefer to aim for a more straight legged approach as I feel that too much legs takes it away from the movement. Feeling strong and I guess it's time to set new goals!

2016... the year of greatness! We are just 3 days into the new year and I already know it's gonna be freekin' awesome year! I am going to fill this year with nothing but success! My motivation has hit an all time high over the past 3-4 weeks. I'm in the gym training 5/6 times a week. I've never felt stronger and in more control of my body. I'm progressing in my career at an awesome speed. The next month alone holds awesome opportunities for me such as my body pump initial training module! If you need someone to give you that kick up the butt or even just a friendly face to offer advice... give me a shout! It's gonna be an awesome year and let's all start it out smiling! Cos right now, there's no time for average!

2016
New year is coming and it's almost 2016! This is YOUR year. This is the year that you stop wishing and start doing! Despite it being 2015, a survey carried out in Scotland revealed that 66% of Scots would consider themselves to be physically active. Now let’s take into consideration that nobody likes to be made to feel unhealthy… So I think it’s fair to say that a number of people may have been telling some porkies! That figure is kinda scary right? Now everyone has their reasoning, and whilst I respect that everyone is unique, let’s break down and smash the top 5 excuses for avoiding taking the plunge into the world of health and exercise: 1. “I don’t have time” Who are you trying to kid here?! There are 1,440 minutes in every single day! A good workout can take only 30. Whether that be setting your alarm that little bit earlier and sacrificing that extra hour snoring your life away or missing out on the latest drama on the cobbles of Coronation Street. Everyone has time to exercise and if you say that you don’t, you need to question where your health lies on your list of priorities. 2. “I’m too tired to exercise” Whilst physically exerting yourself and pushing yourself… your body goes wild inside. Endorphins, Serotonin, Estrogen and even Dopamine are released during exercise. This means that after exercise, it is scientifically proven that you will feel more energetic, less anxious and will have reduced stress levels. If this isn’t enough to push you to get out of that chair… Dopamine is the same hormone that is released from the brain when you hit the big ‘O’! Now you know why they all have that big grin after a hard workout! Science Bi***!! 3. “I’m too old” Welcome to the 21st century, where people now live into their 100’s. This excuse is a total write-off straight from the start! Exercise helps to fight off sarcopenia and muscle loss which is commonly linked to falling over. Exercise doesn’t mean lifting heavy metal things up and slamming them back down. Exercise can be as simple as a slow paced walk outside with the dog/family or even just 10 minutes on the recline bike to maintain mobility throughout your body. Remember that no matter what your physical capability is or your age/weight/height… A very important part of training is stretching and balancing to maintain suppleness throughout a long healthy life. 4. “It costs too much money” The fitness industry is totally booming right now and there are gyms and opportunities to exercise popping up everywhere, from discount gyms like PureGym and Exercise4Less costing around £10 a month to Personal Trainers constantly battling against one another to offer the best deals to their clients. If this isn’t for you… Check out the daily deals sites like Groupon! They are usually teaming with offers from boot camp classes to reduced cost gym memberships. Youtube is so full of “home workouts” that you could do a home workout every single day for the rest of your life and you would never have to repeat the same programme! Still out of your budget? Time to introduce yourself to Mother Nature! The great outdoors is a limitless gym with everything from natural inclines to countless opportunities for body weight training! Take the stairs! 5. “I have nobody to exercise with” This is vital. This is where it is now your opportunity to help lead the charge and fight for a fitter planet! Ask your friend. Your kids. Your parents. Even ask your colleagues! By involving others, you are more likely to stick to your goals and will find it easier to form good and healthier habits. Nobody interested? No problem! Get yourself to some Group Fitness classes! Speaking as a Group Fitness instructor myself… There is no greater feeling than to be surrounded by like-minded people whilst you push yourself to all new limits. I have met some of my nearest and dearest whilst involving myself in Group Fitness Classes and truly believe that I wouldn’t be where I am now, physically and mentally, without the experiences that Group Fitness brought me. So what are you waiting for? It’s 2016! Grab it by the balls and let’s go achieve some GREATNESS!

Legs A.M Good Morning - barbell 3x8 Squats 3x8 Kickbacks - 3x8 each leg Bulgarian Split Squat -dumbells 3x8 each leg Leg Extension single leg - Drop set from 10 Single leg leg press (across the board) - 5x15 each leg Back P.M Lat Pull Down - 3x8 Rear Delt Flies - 3x8 Deadlifts -drop sets 10,8,6 then 1RM attempt Reverse Grip Rows - 3x8 Wide Rows - 3x8 Behind back shrugs - barbell 3x8
So tonight was my first night on the "MyPre" pre workout from my protein... I didn't notice or feel much of a kick but I did hit a new One Rep Max with deadlifts and felt strong and comfortable with the lift!
So this morning I had a tough new leg workout... tonight after my shift it was an even harder back sesh! Phew! Last workout of the year!
So chuffed I hit a new One Rep Max on deadlifts! 145kg with, what I would say, is a pretty clean technique! Keeping the face sexy too 😉😂
