☆彡 HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEIGO TAKAMI 彡☆ ㅤ★ WING HERO: HAWKS ★ 28.12 ★
Don’t return ebooks or audiobooks you’ve consumed on Amazon and Audible
Amazon and Audible made it into their policy that you can return ebooks and audiobooks and get a full refund.
They actively promote this, making their book shop into a book lending service, de facto a library you subscribe to. That’s their business plan to encourage subscribtions.
The dirty thing, however, is that Amazon and Audible are making the authors pay for each refunded item. They will detract money, income, royalties, from the authors’ account. They’re not hurting from the refund, the author is.
Look, no-one is saying you’re not allowed to return an item if you’ve read the first 50 pages or listened to the first 45 minutes. Maybe the style is not your thing. Maybe you don’t like the narrator’s voice. Maybe the quality of the writing drops severely after chapter three. Go ahead, if the product is bad, return it.
What I’m talking about is that no one should be able to listen to a ten-hour audiobook or read through nearly an entire novel and still get a refund.
Most of the readers don’t know who’s paying for this business plan. It’s not Amazon and Audible, they’re still keeping your subscription money. It’s the authors.
Spread the word.
Yeah, in all honesty, I would legit rather you pirate my series than do this.
I had someone read and then return the entirety of one of my series last month, and I don’t make enough from my books for that sudden loss of income to not be noticeable. So, I was going ahead going “oh, okay, when Amazon pays out for this month, I will make X amount, which means I can afford Y”, and then in one day, there was a significant drop from someone returning an entire series.
Like, I need to be able to plan ahead when it comes to my income, so honestly, if your plan is to buy and then return my series as a way to get it for free, please just pirate it instead of fucking me about. Or, you know, join my beta/ARC team or wait for me to make the series Pay-What-You-Want on my website. Or, hell, get it from your local library! It’s not like I don’t make it easy to get my books for free/cheap…
Reblogging again because I just woke up to “you have earned negative money so far this month” which is just a super great way to start the month… /s

There are a couple of things about current shipping culture that confuse me.
1. The focus on whether or not a pairing will become canon as a reason people should ship something or not. Do you not understand what the “transformative” part of “transformative works” means?”
2. This idea that saying “I ship that” means “I think that, as presented in canon, this is a perfect, healthy relationship that everyone should model their relationship after.”
Sometimes shipping something does mean that. Sometimes shipping something means “Person A is a trash bag who doesn’t deserve person B but I would love to explore how Person A might grow to deserve Person B.” Sometimes it means “I want these characters to live together forever in a conflict free domestic AU.” Sometimes it means “I want Person A to forever pine after Person B. Nothing is beautiful and everything hurts.” And sometimes it just means you like their faces and want to see Person A and Person B bone in various configurations and universes.
Listen to your parents, kids.
This really should be one of a handful of Public Service Announcements randomly and chronically inserted into one’s dash.
Hell man sometimes it means “these two are TERRIBLE and I want to watch them burn like a catastrophic forest fire as a proxy for all the shit I don’t actually want in real life (like to light my own apartment on fire and scream) and then laugh at the destruction at the end.”
All “I ship it” really means – really – is “I think there’s a story in those two, and I want to hear it.”

Not a Goodbye
Five years ago, Butterfly Blue completed The King’s Avatar.
Four years ago, The King’s Avatar began being translated.
This year, coincidentally on Su Muqiu’s birthday, the novel finished being translated.
In these past few years, The King’s Avatar was adapted into a stage play, a manhua, a donghua, a live action, and a movie.
As Butterfly Blue mentioned in his Weibo post, “Their future is in your hands alone,” and their future has been continuously adapted and recreated long after their main story finished.
Beyond the pages, the story and characters continue to live on through the fans.
Whether you were there since the beginning, whether you joined at some point along the journey, whether you discovered The King’s Avatar through the novel, the manhua, the donghua, the live action, the movie, or the stage play…
Their story is still our story.
However, this story would not have existed if it wasn’t for Butterfly Blue, who portrayed Ye Xiu and everyone as such beloved, incredible characters that they became unforgettable existences, who designed a world so immersive that Glory became a part of our irreplaceable reality.
This story wouldn’t have been widely accessible if it wasn’t for the translators, who preserved the heart of the original content, who conveyed the subtleties, nuances, and colloquialisms of the Chinese language as they translated the novel into the English language.
Thank you to Butterfly Blue. Thank you to the translators.
The translations may have ended, but The King’s Avatar is still here.
Instead of a bittersweet goodbye, I’d like to think of this as a happy hello because new fans are always being welcomed, because old fans can always return to The King’s Avatar, and announce, “I’m back!”
A new start for us all.
Kanou Hiro (Wada Takuma) and his very casual approach to arrest at the beginning of the stage play Psycho-pass:
getting all cozy and chummy with the latent criminal
moving on to some light flirting
rising up to rough play after showing his badge (hehe, surprise!)
sending the suspect to grumpy colleague for some mild beating
a bit of judo
OK, that was fun but it’s gun-time now. Let’s smoke him up and go home.
And all that with jaunty elegance and cheerful style. Yup, still got it. 😎
Thanks for the gifs. I needed this 😍
Itsuki and his Jerk of an Uncle
My rough translation of Itsuki’s upbringing with his uncle in Messiah -Code Edge- It’s probably full of errors but... that doesn’t mean it’s not worth sharing right?¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Adekan 3 stream has been out since a few days(a couple of weeks now) and i’m amazed they managed to renew somewhat the stage while sticking through the known structure.
Story : The stage follows both yoshiwara brothers aventures cuting from shiro dealing with a mysterious woman that looks like someone from his childhood to anri’s struggle against haruzumi and the powerfull shinonome(i have a problem understanding things there).
General review : To me it is not as good as the first two because i can’t really get into the anri part of the story for the above mentionned reason and because their attempt at more normal speed fighting and action take me out of the story. The other part, dealing around shiro is solid and touching both with action, and the complex feelings that is our hero. Without the context of the manga translation i would have been lost a lot, specially for the flashback parts but as a final (i hope for keito’s health) stage it was satisfying and keito is just a delight to watch the final stage of growth from the character under the influence of officer kojiro and for keito as an actor (but hey adekan was the first time i saw keito and i’m very partial) !
i’m glad the the final salute capture his cute smile, a heart warming and needed moment !
