a story told in ten years time

thinking that it's been almost 10 years since I left New York but it is a persistent little tickle in my mind. like always a reminder that if things had turned out differently, i'd be different too (deep).

a lot about scars, a lot about developing defenses against the horrors, some about growth, a lot about letting go

i learned something about laughing from Stephanie whose ex-boyfriend drove from one coast to the other in an attempt. not a very good one despite the effort

well anyway someone in a bad situation tried to assault me the last time i gave new york a chance. and then i was shuffled into the lunch room of a big tech company where they wanted to sell us something and in turn wanted us to sell ourselves to them. and the person who wanted to hurt me had accused me of working in secret to destroy the world (and also a bunch of racist things). and in the sales pitch at the company, the words were just as confusing and maybe a little bit as insulting. And I couldn't understand anything anymore so I just ate the pizza that had been sitting under the heat lamps even though it was too dried out and i could have just gone out and bought a dollar slice anywhere else.

Well. So I gave up.

But i still miss what could have been because i simply do not learn

it's been like 2 years. i havent touched it. never needed to. "you don't really have a choice," are you so swift to forget the recent past? Bitch i still use itunes to download mp3s to so i have them forever and any song i want, then my sister burns them to CDs.
