"Riley has gone missing."

The words didn’t register with her for a moment. No. They were wrong. Her sister was the smartest, the best, she wasn’t missing. There was no way she was missing. She was just...she was on some mission. And she couldn’t check in. It wasn’t like cell phones and communicators were impossible to break. No her sister was fine. She was fine. But what if she wasn’t. With a loud scream she started pacing thinking of every possible scenario that could have gone wrong.

“She’s not gone.” she whimpered out. She shook her head and ran to the girls room. Everything was there perfectly in place like she’d just gone to training. She let out another loud scream as she looked through everything turning the once neat room into a travesty. Everything was thrown everywhere. “Where is it. Where could she have gone.” she said pushing the wall not even noticing the pain radiating from her hand. “No no no no no.” she said. “Please Riley.” she begged sitting on her sister’s bed head in her hands sobbing. “Give me any sign. I have to find you. Where did you go.” she said laying on the bed and curling up with her sister’s pillow.

Riley shook her head when Hannah shoved into her this time.”Dad would say that you’re 18 and no longer a baby. He wouldn’t give a shit.” She replied with a laugh. “I know, I know.” Riley raised her hands, but she couldn’t promise that she wouldn’t at least be a little worried about Hannah. She was so similar to their Dad that she couldn’t, not worry.

“I don’t think dad would like thinking of me as anything but. He doesn’t like us growing up.” she said with a laugh. She shook her head. “I know you can take care of yourself sis. And you can worry about all of us since I know I’ll still be worrying about you. But I just don’t want you to be distracted by worry.”

“I am and I know i can be.” Kyden stated still smirking since he didn’t care. One he was hot, two he was the shit and three he had fucking amazing powers. How couldn’t he be amazing himself. “You’ll just be left wondering what else I can do since Magic isn’t the beginning of it.”

She laughed loudly. “Okay Mr. Ego. Let’s back up here. You can do magic. That’s amazing but other than that you look pretty damn average to me. Take the magic away and what are you. Some smooth talking run of the mill guy. And that opinion is going to stick unless you really do show me something amazing.

“I understand that,” Olivia smirked. “Just pull it together.” She pulled the bow off her back and placed it against the wall of the range. “What would you feel more comfortable using, a bow or a gun?” She thought to ask, her revolver tucked into it’s holster on her side. The girl was obviously more modern than Olivia was so maybe she would prefer the gun over the bow. “Alright. That sounds like a good enough deal to me.”

She looked at the gun and worried how much damage that could do. Although she wasn’t naive. A perfectly placed area could do as much and sometimes more damage. “I think I’ll stick with the bow.” she said taking it in her hand a bit more heavy than she had expected wood and string to be.

It was the last thing he wanted to do, to be the one who has to say he was in the wrong- unless he can get something out of it. “I was looking you over like a herder looks over livestock. It seemed like the girl really cared about the book if she continued to read it like this. “It seems so important to you.”

“I’m positive.” she said with a smile. “They are important to me but a book that isn’t being read is a sad book.” she said knowing how odd it sounded. “And if you love reading then I’m sure I can trust you.” she said running her fingers over the cover lightly.
