“Do you wish we’d fallen in love sooner?” You ask the boy to your left, not sparing him even a glance as you lay back on the blanket, eyes far too enamored with the shinning stars.

“I don’t think so.” He responds lightly after a pause. The arm beneath your head shifts slightly, and you sit up just enough for him to adjust himself before returning your head to its spot.

You nod, but curiosity has you continue your questioning. “Why?”

“I’ve loved you for longer than I can remember,” He says almost matter-of-factly. It’s now that he turns his head to look at you. “I wouldn’t change that.”

The smile on his face causes warmth to wash over your body. You keep your head forward, but your eyes dart to the side to watch him. “Do you wish we’d confessed sooner though?” you ask.

A melodious laugh leaves his lips, and causes a splash of pink on your cheeks. “We were too young, too stupid.”

“Still, we could’ve made it,” you state, hints of a smile pulling on your face now. You finally turn to face him. “I think we could’ve.”

His smile seems to grow at that, turning into his all too familiar toothy grin that just drives you crazy. He pulls his arm from behind you head and fumbles to find your hand, eyes refusing to look anywhere but your face. “Maybe,” He answers as his fingers capture yours. It’s his turn to question you now as he gives your hand a gentle squeeze. “Do you wish we’d fallen in love sooner?”

You suck in a breath, squeezing his hand back “Hansol,” you whisper this time, “Love like this didn’t matter until you.”

He radiates happiness at your answer, scooting his face closer to yours so that your noses brush. “So you wouldn’t change it?”

You lean in, pressing the softest kiss you can muster against his lips, and smile as the moonlight illuminates you two. “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
