Uhhh if i see one more person describe pan as being “without preference” i will scream
The difference between bi and Pan does not lie between which one has preference and which one does not. Pan isn’t “hearts not parts” honestly that is so rude to bi people. Pleaseeee stop saying that... Both sexualities have preferences.
So what is the difference? Here is my understanding of it:
Definition of bi: attraction to two or more gender identities (female, male, non-binary)
Bi has always included trans and non-binary people!
Definition of Pan: attraction to all three gender identities (again: female, male, non-binary )
The difference is that bi means two or all and Pan always means all. Bi varies depending on the person but Pan is always the same in the sense that they have attraction to all three gender identities. (Amount of attraction can vary tho in both sexualities. For example for me im Pan so im attracted to all three gender identities but i have a preference for women and non-binary people)
Is this a very small difference? Yeah. But it’s important to me 🤷🏻♀️ (of course because i identify as Pan) I’ve been seeing this discourse everywhere and it just really makes me feel like shit tbh?? I spent a lot of time trying to find my identity and for people to just call me “spicy bi” likeee it just makes me feel like my personal journey is a joke. Idk Idk i could be wrong of course this is just how i see it
