The way secularists/liberal Christians have twisted Jesus’ message of “don’t judge” into meaning he was this cuddly, morality-is-subjective kind of guy who was totes okay with people doing whatever they wanted instead of it being that he was stressing we should focus on our own sins instead of acting blameless while we condemn others is so, so aggravating.
although i’ve known this on some surface level, i’ve come i’ve come to the realization, slowly perhaps, but with absolute clarity that if God was the only one i had i’d be alright. if all else fell, i know He’d remain. He’s all i need

Please be in prayer for my aunt. She’s been diagnosed with breast cancer. They caught it early and the prognosis is good, but still cancer is cancer.
I’ll be praying. My aunt has it as well after 10 years in remission.
You know what I want? A vampire comedy where at one point a vampire goes “Your father would be spinning in his grave” and then there’s a quick cutaway to a dimly lit gothic boudoir where a coffin is rattling at an incredible speed
I was inspired to write this short story thing during one of my Quiet Times with God. Hope this touches your heart.
Ezra has heard of Yeshua. Everyone had honestly. How could you not hear of the traveling Rabbi would healed with a touch of his hand. He had come to Judea from Galilee. Ezra and his friends had been following the massive crowd with their mothers all day. Looking to either side, Ezra could see the ill, brought by those who loved them, hoping and begging Yahweh that Yeshua would heal their charge. Scattered among the ill, were the curious. The Rabbi taught in strange stories that left the Pharisees in the crowd whispering among themselves.
Ezra and his friends just wanted to hear Yeshua for themselves. They darted in and out through the crowd, trying to get a closer look at the Rabbi. Everyone they knew who had seen him said that by most standards, Yeshua was not someone who looked remarkable. He was not blessed with fine features or an attractive physique. However, they also said there was something about him that drew people to him. It wasn’t just the healing though that was a large part of it.
Ezra’s mother and grandmother were closer to Yeshua in the crowd. They had brought Ezra to see Yeshua. His grandmother hoped the Rabbi would lay His hands on Ezra and bless him. She hoped maybe that way Ezra would be blessed with success or safety or really anything that would help him in these dangerous times. His mother had complied to appease her opinionated mother-in-law. Ezra’s mother Miriam had just been speaking to a surly looking man who was one of Yeshua’s close friends when Ezra approached, squeezing his way through the crowd as they pressed close. Yeshua’s friend obviously did not want the womenfolk to bother the Rabbi with blessing children. Ezra’s heart sunk as he heard the man rebuke his mother, telling her Yeshua was simply too busy to lay His hands on the children.
Yeshua paused, in His speaking to those around Him. He looked over to his friend with a calm look on His face, yet Ezra saw a bit of rebuke there. Ezra studied His features. The rumors were true. Yeshua was not someone that Ezra would have picked from a crowd of many men as anyone special. Although there was something about when Ezra looked into His eyes, something there was remarkable. Fire burned there and compassion strangely enough. Truth and empathy lived there together. Power and love intermixed in a way Ezra had never seen before.
“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Yeshua smiled at Ezra and his friends , like they were long expected guests who had just arrived. It seemed almost like Yeshua had been waiting all day to see them. Ezra and his friends walked towards Him, nudged forward by those who had brought them. Yeshua welcomed them and began to talk to them about their lives. Though His tone was different then the condescending way adults often used, instead as if their thoughts were as wise as any adult. They stayed there for a while before Yeshua said He needed to continue. He laid His hands very gently on their heads and blessed them. Ezra went away from there, mixed feelings of confusion, happiness and mild shock swimming through his head.
