3) What is your overall point of view on justice or reputation? Has it changed from before you started the unit? If so, how? If not, why? Write TWO paragraphs.
Before this Tumblr assignment, I believed that there was no difference between Justice and Equality. After reading several posts by Abdullah Khan, Faisal and others, my opinion on Justice has substantially altered. I have learned that Equality means treating everyone in the same manner, not considering their conditions, while Justice means treating everyone the way they deserve to be treated.
Meanwhile, my opinion on reputation is the same as it was before this Tumblr assignment. My opinion on reputation was and still is that reputation is mostly used to improve ones status in life. Some people say that reputation does not represent the the personality of the concerned person and I completely support this claim, because, in some cases, people maintain a pleasant attitude while in public but maintain a horrible manner in private, with his/her family members for example.
There are so many lessons that G10 students should learn so I’m going to put them in bullets:
1) To make good choices while also allowing enough freedom to learn from our own mistakes.
2) To respect others, to have good manners andthe ability to tell the truth.
I picked those because 1. r...
I very strongly agree with Eissa because what he says is true, there are many smart people out there in the world who could have been better than who they are now if they had good manners. Many people with great talents tend to boast and undermine those who don't have an equal amount of skill in certain fields of expertise (examples: - sports, programming, etc.) I must say though, I do not completely agree with the first point. This is just a theory but I propose that instead of doing something new and then learning from my own mistakes, I would rather give the advice to someone else and then learn from their mistakes instead. I have not used this technique very often but when I have, it has never failed me.

1) How has your opinion of social media changed doing this project? Some people look at social media in a negative way- how can you argue that it can be useful AND educational?
My opinion on social networks before this project was that it is generally a waste of time because many people abuse the use of social media by posting useless posts that usually do not concern anyone else in any existing way. Examples: - "Like this post if you are Muslim", "Like this post to donate water to those in need", "Like this post if you are against hunger", etc. Obviously, these are completely time wasting posts and they just annoy anyone who reads it. These kinds of posts are the reason I stopped going on Facebook. Now, my opinion on social media has dramatically changed. After taking part in this project, I realize what social media can achieve. It has shown me the many advantages of social media. The best thing about it is that the group of people who are using it can easily compile their ideas on the subject they are discussing about. What's more, you can excess it from anywhere with an internet connection and from any device that can connect to the internet.
Rewrite a scene from The Piano Lesson. Change or modify anything that you would like but keep the main purpose of the scene. Aim to write at least 200 words.
Lymon:- Boy Willie’s goin’ back, doesn’t want to stay away from his precious farm too long. But I’m stayin’. I got nothing to do own there. Boy Willie: - You better take me down there. I’m not gonna walk all the way back.
Lymon: - You gotta problem with me not takin’ you back there? Well, deal with it. Whose gonna pay for the fuel. That stuff cost money.Plus, I ain’t gonna take the chance of that truck breakin’ down again. You go by train and use your own money.
Doaker: - That truck keeps breakin’ down because of all those watermelons. As a matter of fact, you two are lucky enough you even got here after hauling up load.
Boy Willie: - We broke down THREE times. It took us like four days to get up here, you know.
Lymon: - We broke down twice in West Virginia. One time was when we got outta Sunflower and the second was 40 miiles after that.
Boy WIllie: - We had to walk for hours to find water. YOu better get that damn truck fixed Lymon.
Lymon: - That is one fine truck so you better shut your mouth and stop insultin’ it. It got a hole in the radiator but that ain’t really a problem. Plus, It also has a little problem with the brakes. You just gotta pump them till they catch. Boy Willie’s always ready to jump out the door when that happens. It’s hilarious.
Boy Willie: - Lymon thinks it’s funny. I told I’d pay him to get those damn brakes but he thinks he’s funny.
Lymon: - For the last time nigger, them brakes are fine. Why do you care about that truck? I'ts mine. I'll fix it when I want to. -Page 3 (Over 250 words)
Qoute from the piano lesson: - Boy Willie: "The Ghosts of the Yellow Dog got Sutter."
This is the first time The ghosts of the Yellow Dog are mentioned in the book. I think they are an example of what colored people used to suffer in the south before the Civil War. Boy Willie mentions them when he was telling Bernice what happened to Sutter. He and Lymon found this piece of news funny. Well, they found the concept of a fat man falling down his own well funny. Not the concept of someone dying.

1) Do you like tumblr? Why/why not? Do you prefer a different social media website? What website could also be used to do this type of school assignment?
2) Was this tumblr assignment good, or would you have preferred writing your responses in a journal in class time? Why/why not?
3) What changes would you make to this assignment for next time?
Ans 1) I like Tumblr because it is simple and easy to use while being complex due to the various features and interesting at the same time. Another website that we could use to do this kind of work is twitter because, although it does't have the same features, we could still use it the same way we use Tumblr.
Ans 2) I think that this Tumblr assignment is a very unexpected, creative and an outside-the-box idea. The very thought of sitting in class every week for one and a half hour is traumatising to any grade 10 student. At least we can do other activities on a mac while not disturbing the other students in the process.
Ans 3) If I could change anything in this assignment I would give more options to choose from every week.
Injustice in The Piano Lesson (week 4)
I think it was unjust for Boy Willie and Lymon to just go up to Bernice's house, wake her up and decide to sell the piano without Bernice's permission.
I think this is injustice because Boy Willie had no intention to ask for Bernice's permission to sell the piano, although she had a right o it just as much as Boy Willie. Also, Boy Willie didn't even plan to at least split the money between themselves. He should have tried to go and sell something that didn't mean so much to his sister or find another way of making enough money to buy the third piece of land.
note (To miss Shannon): - The reason I finished my week 4 assignment so late was because I only recently bought the second copy of The Piano Lesson. So I hope you'll excuse my tardiness.
A lesson every 10th grade student should learn.
All tenth grade students should be able to focus more their desired sport. They could do this by letting us practice during the free periods.
1) Sports increases our stamina and endurability. It helps us stay healthy through exercise.
2) it also teaches us control and patience. This also teaches us about responsibility
The Piano Lesson in 2 different mediums
The Piano Lesson can be converted into a movie. This way people too lazy to read the book will still be able to know about the story and possibly learn something from the story. It also helps people get a more descriptive loo at the situation but it also depends on how much the director understands the story. For example, I read the Eragon/Inheritance series then, I watched the movie and realised how of the story the directors missed.
The Piano Lesson could also be converted from a play format into a novel format. So, instead of just dialogues, there would be more descriptions. This would give readers a better view of the occurring situation in the Piano Lesson. The readers will also have more information on the characters.
The difference between the two mediums is that the movie format would give the audience more visual description about the story while the novel format would give more description of the characters in the book.
week 4 piano lesson justice
Task2: The fact that Bernice and Doaker keep asking Boy Willie and Lymon where did they get that truck from says that they already judged them and say that they stool the truck which shows injustice to Boy Willie and Lymon who claim to say that they bought it for 210 dollars from their sweat and hard work which leads us to injustice which they already judged them in a bad way.
I agree with Hamdan because what he says is true, you can't judge or blame someone right away before looking at certain facts. I believe in the saying, "Innocent until proven guilty.". Bernice and Doaker had no reason to immediately think that Boy Willie and Lymon stole the truck, unless they had proof. If you started judging people before getting to know them then you will, more often then not, be proven wrong.
Extra Assignment for 10A, 10B, 10C boys
Boys, please make sure you are on your best behaviour for Ms. Lidija!
If you are finished, please answer these questions below in full sentences to show me how much you deserve to be in Grade 10 English!
1) What is the best thing about GSAD?
2) What ONE thing would you like to see improved at GSAD?
3) What would you change about English class this year?
4) What would you like to do more of in English class?
5) If you were Principal for one day, what one rule would you change at GSAD?
1) It is a well facilitated school with enormous resources. The best thing about it is that it has many interactive activities that occur from time to time. It gives students many opportunities to increase their skills in various fields.
2) The one thing I would like to see improved is the amount of respect we receive from the school personnel. They should know that we are responsible men, or at the very least, that we can control ourselves when left unsupervised. So we should be allowed to use the computer lab or play football in our free time.
3) The one thing I would like to change about English Class is that we should have something like a pizza party when we are far ahead of the schedule.
4) I would like to have more general discussions about the currently occurring events and worldwide arguments.
5) High school students are allowed go swimming in the swimming pool during their free time, unsupervised. This would at least give more purpose to the swimming pool than being there for decoration in the eyes of high school students.
Oh, and also, free the apes.
