Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]

Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016).  There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.

okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because it’s a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back

“Sun-tama-tama” (a pun off of “Santama”, lit. “third Tama”) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tama’s successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, “I will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.” [25]

As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tama’s Twitter account.

What’s happening

Apparently you can no longer open Sherlock’s website? So this site here:

Just won’t open? Like all I get is this:

It’s German and they basically just ask me if I made a typo or anything. Like as if there was nothing. Even though the website is shown when you google it (see above).

So I thought, wait! Let me check the bbc homepage perhaps I can access it that way. Turns out I could. BUT the web address is slightly different and the actual website is like WHAT THE HELL IS THIS??

There’s no other link, no comment on the change NOTHING.

What does that mean? Do y'all know about it already? Did I miss something? If so, please tell me about it and if not: perhaps this will provide us with some clues about Sherlock or something? I mean it’s quite telling that his website has just vanished? Almost as if he’s I dunno dying? And then on the bbc website it explicitly says:

It’s supposed to be entirely fictional and a Sherlock character site/account. It isn’t though. It’s some girl/woman whatever blogging about Sherlock Holmes (from the Canon and the explicitly mentioned adaption of bbc Sherlock) and how to deduce stuff and all that. I’m confused. I tried finding Tumblr posts about this but I couldn’t.

So yeah please someone explain or something and I’m gonna tag some people I think might be able to help me out/ are interested ( if you aren’t I’m sorry and if you don’t wanna be tagged just tell me).

it’s very weird that the .org site is the one linked on the bbc page! Sherlock’s blog was .co.uk, like john’s blog. I made a reply on another post about this, i did a quick search on the .co.uk site, and found that it had been registered by hartswood films in sept 2008, and allowed to lapse in sept 2018. I don’t know if it was an oversight, or why, it might be that we should be asking hartswood and/or the bbc.

@sarahthecoat, @sparkling-otter-hedgehog: I got in contact with the man who owns the website. He is also on Twitter and seems to exist for real. He said he only realised some time ago that the BBC had linked his website and did not know anything about it beforehand. He is a Sherlock Holmes fan and knows about the show but claims he has no connection to it. 

However, I have no idea why the BBC should use a link that has no clear connection with their show and a website which has not been designed by them. This is really mysterious.

I think Hartswood allowed the domain to expire and never told the BBC to remove the link. I also think we should buy the website from this guy and start linking our meta to the BBC. Wouldn’t that be something? :)))

@itsallblogtome @sherlockshadow I’m totally on board with that idea! If anyone knows how to properly do this kind of stuff (like web design etc.? Cause I don’t know the first thing about that) I’d definitely support that in whatever way I can. It really is very weird though and I’m wondering if that guy is actually telling the truth, or if he’s somehow involved in this whole mess? I just can’t imagine that bbc would just let Sherlock’s blog get deleted because they can’t be bothered to keep it? But only his blog? The other sites just stay? and then what? Accidentally link a different web address? With the weirdest content? Without fucking noticing their mistake? Hardly.

You know what they say about coincidence. The universe is rarely so lazy. So yeah this whole thing is highly suspicious and I wanna get to the bottom of it. And if that’s actually possible then we might as well try. @sarahthecoat @gosherlocked

@devoursjohnlock well first of all that’s good to know I guess. It still seems soo strange to me though. I mean if this actually happened coincidentally they would notice after a while wouldn’t they? And change it? I mean it’s really not that hard. What if this entire persona is just created by bbc? By Mofftiss? For, I dunno, some reason? Leaving some clues? Or just generally showing us that something’s off? Ugh perhaps I’m being to tin-hatty right now, I don’t really know anymore but this whole thing is just screaming at me with wrongness.

So whatever we do, let’s somehow get ahold of this website or try to contact bbc and demand an explanation.
