Wakaba Higuchi (JPN) becomes the 5th woman in history to land a clean 3A on Olympic ice @ Beijing 2022
Lainey Molnar
My favorite thing about this is that the "traditional" woman isn't always on the left. By switching it up the artist is really committing to the idea that the right way for a woman to be is however she wants.
Just wish some of the women were plus size..
I really love how much Lainey's art and positivity is bringing people joy and I really hope you're checking out her insta, it's full of so many more
It got better
You can also switch where you are in and out through life. A woman can have a baby at home but also drink champagne and travel for work. A person who gets out of a toxic relationship may well later have joy in being married. A person who had children very early in life may well have a delightful life filled with pizza and dogs, living alone and loving it in their 40s, when those children are themselves established. A person may date a man or a woman in any particular sequence without being defined by it.
You and your life are supposed to change and evolve. There is no shame in switching from "person on the left" to "person on the right" as that may happen. These things do not define you; you do not claim or align with them in direct competition with the people in other boxes. As the artist says, they are equal.
(I believe this is the artist's intention. This is an addition.)
white dudes talking about privilege by appropriating the ideas of woc makes me want to set fire to something, funnily enough

This!!!! Spread this message around. Crying is good!!!!
Male. Female. Non binary. Doesnât matter. We all have the right to feel our emotions!
Tears are a safety valve. Hard to believe they are forbidden to half the population. Without them, this pressure cooker would just explode
@simplyclockwork we were just talking about this⊠so important
@keirgreeneyes yes, it is! let men have emotions! let men cry! normalize emotional men!Â
this is so fricking important and i can not stress this enough.Â
Lemon cake (no bake)
This week we have a lemon cake with no bake. Lemon Kurdish is a filling here, it is such cream, which is very often met in confectionary. The recipe is to my taste, if you are afraid of excessive «lemonity», replace three lemons with two large oranges and three limes. Ingredients are so simple that you can cook a cake without leaving your home.

If anyone out there is struggling with any loved ones caught up in the Qanon cult, hereâs two great videos to help address it all, from a white supremacist cult survivor turned expert on de-radicalization
one for Q-followers who are starting to come out of the delusion
and one for people with loved ones still in the delusion:
being a non native english speaker and having picked it up through a lot of different things is pretty funny because you end up using words like âyâallâ and âwhilstâ in the same sentence. keeps native speakers on their toes

This works best if you keep windows closed.
Another design is using 2 20x25x1 filters, taping them to the sides of the box fan and then to each other so they sort of make a triangle, then cutting cardboard to make a top and bottom to the triangle.
This was discovered as a more effective design during the 2020 US west coast fires.
https://tombuildsstuff.blogspot.com/2013/06/better-box-fan-air-purifier.html
A better more efficient and odor eliminating homemade air purifier than just taping a 20x20x1 filter to a box fan. Sometimes you need to
In China I used one of them fancy cylindrical hepa filters with a computer fan attached to its top. Which basically makes it as functional as them air purifier towers
oooh, and some computer fans are super quiet
both of these are more stable than a box fan, too, and way cheaper than a Winix or whatever - especially when buying replacement filters
heyâthe thread that starts like this?
it's been debunked by snopes
i cannot stress enough that it has been debunked by snopes and contains dangerous misinformation
stop reblogging it! stop retweeting it! you are actively putting people in danger when you do so
Though not all of the post's assertions lack a theoretical basis, their applicability to COVID-19 home care is largely flawed.
this is such a good example of flash flooding! cannot tell you how many timea I've had to redirect campers from setting up tents in dru creekbeds for this exact reason. flash flood zones aren't always as obvious as this either. floodplains may look like the perfect, flat, grassy, cool spot by the river to pirch your tent, but they're dangerous! always research where you plan to hike & camp, and always check the weather before you go!
in case you havenât heard it today, or donât fully realise it yet: i promise you that most people in this world are kind, loving and understanding. the people around you want you to succeed, they do not want you to fail. your friends donât hate you, they love you, and they want to see you grow and prosper.Â
the world is not as bad as it seems. donât forget that.
Sounds fake but ok
good news: itâs not fake. everything i said is true. being dismissive towards good things is a damaging mindset to have. youâll feel a lot better if you have some trust and if youâre willing to consider optimistic viewpoints.
Is this what non depressed people feel like ? Damn. Youâre so lucky
iâm extremely mentally ill and extremely depressed at that. deflecting good advice that encourages you to think positively about life by claiming that the person who said it is not depressed (when i very much am) is also a very damaging mindset to have.
OP is the opposite of the âThen Perishâ meme. All of OPâs replies read as âThen Prosperâ.
Hey all y'all, it turns out that saying positive things and encouraging others with them even when you donât quite believe them yourself is an excellent coping strategy for clinical depression. I know itâs hard to understand when youâre in the pit, and if Iâm honest itâs still hard for me to grok, but the more you say positive things, the more they start being true. If that means lying to yourself, lie! Your brain chemistry is already lying to you about bad things, you may as well lie right back about good ones.
âYour brain chemistry is already lying to you about bad things, you may as well lie right back about good ones.âÂ
Wow. That is a really fucking good point.Â
THEN PROSPER
THEN PROSPER!!
THEN PROSPER.
Being a visibly intersex woman means being a target for misdirected but still traumatic transphobic violence, abuse, and harassment while being erased, ignored, and having my experiences denied regularly by both the transphobes who target me and the trans community who doesnât think about or ever discuss intersex people unless weâre also trans or yâall want to use us as âproofâ that nonbinary genders are real (they are, but intersex ppl arenât inherently nonbinary) and itâs kind of suffocating honestly!!! Intersexism comes at intersex people from all sides all the time lmfao
Sometimes when I make a post about my intersex experiences or intersex positivity that I donât explicitly mention the word âintersexâ in, if I donât also explicitly mention how it applies to trans people too, historically Iâve gotten asks accusing me of erasing trans people, not caring, being a bad ally, etc. and I really donât mind including relevant folks anyway
But NOBODY, ever, does the same for intersex people. We arenât included in conversations relevant to ourselves and if we happen to be cis (hello) weâre usually actively excluded from relevant conversations on account of identifying as our assigned gender.
Iâm afraid to even speak up and say hey, this is relevant to intersex people too! Because Iâm afraid of being told Iâm somehow being an asshole or outright laughed at and dismissed when really I just really fucking need intersex people to be seen and heard because rn I feel smothered by the utter lack of community with people whose struggles directly parallel my own
I've been told that my trauma from the intersexism I've received, and my sense of hopelessness that I will ever be seen as a real woman, are transphobic. That I am clinging too stringently to outdated ideas of gender because I express dysphoria.
All of which sends the message that I am not allowed to feel uncomfortable with the level of androgens in my body and their presentation, because I'm cis.
Iâve been called transphobic for venting about transphobes suicide baiting me while picking apart my entire body and appearance because, according to them, I was only upset because people read me as trans, and not because of the violence and threats and abuse Iâve faced.
Intersex people can and usually do experience gender dysphoria, even if weâre cis! Intersex people face real trauma and abuse from family, peers, employers, doctors, etc!
Do better by intersex people!!!!!
Facebook PSA
Hey all, a little Social Media PSA if you have the Facebook App on your phone.Â
With the last update, Facebook began tracking something called âoff-Facebook Activityâ which keeps up with all apps and browsing you do off of Facebook and collects that information with the purpose of targeting ads⊠which means theyâre selling it to ad agencies. This includes access to any banking apps on your phone and your spending habits.Â
Not only is this a major breech of privacy that Facebook didnât have to tell us about when they updated the app, itâs, of course, automatically turned on.Â
To turn it off, go into your Facebook app, pull up the menu from the main screen [the button with the three horizontal lines] scroll down to security and privacy, find âOff-Facebook Activityâ and hit the button that lets you manage your history to see all the apps itâs been collecting from. From there, you can clear the information itâs already collected, and there will be a button regarding âFuture activityâ where you can turn the âfeatureâ off, at which point Facebook with give you an âARE YOU SURE YOU DONâT WANT US COLLECTING YOUR INFORMATION TO SELL YOU THINGS???â screen. Yes, yes you are sure. Because this is disgusting.Â
Facebook made this super hard to find, so Iâve written up instructions for how I got through it (on my app - I donât know if there are other versions where itâs different):
From Facebook, go to the Menu by clicking on the three horizontal lines on the top right of the screen.
Scroll down to the bottom and select the Settings & Privacy drop-down menu.
Then select Settings (the first option under the drop-down).
This will take you to a screen showing multiple headers with lists of links under them
Scroll down to Your Facebook Information and select Off-Facebook Activity.
The next page has a short explanation of Off-Facebook Activity. Click Manage Your Off-Facebook Activity after the What You Can Do header.
This will take you to a screen with an option to Clear History (which I recommend). To actually turn off this feature, you will have to click the three dots at the top right of the screen and select the Manage Future Activity option that pops up.
This will take you to a page explaining in more detail what theyâre doing. Select the Manage Future Activity at the bottom of the page.
THEN you can finally select the toggle to turn off Future Off-Facebook Activity.Â
If itâs glowing blue with the circle on the right side, itâs active, and if itâs gray with the circle on the left side, itâs off.
Just went and checked this out and yikes on a stick
Yuck. I just did this.
I donât use facebook (and continue to be glad for this ever day), but for all the folks who do Iâm spreading this.
OP is deleted. The reblog with the directions is from May 2020.
fantastic news!
All the more reason to wear masks! :)
