When you get so into the arts that the natural progression to get better at art is math
🤬🤬🤬🤬
Every time I post something on tumblr I expect it to be the post where I go tumblr famous. I don’t know why(yes I do it cuz tumblr is approachable), it’s meaningless, but I still do. I expect this one to go famous right now. It’s not going to happen :(
The ideal partner:
The duality of being smarter than your partner, but they are also smarter than you. Being hotter than them, but so are they to you. You save them, but they also save you. You both make absurd amounts of money, it’s exactly the same amount, yet you still rely on each other completely. You both are wildly respected figures in society, but each of you think the other's work is more important despite being deeply moved by your own. You never have to tell anyone you are dating; everyone already knows and is cool with it. Everyone thinks you are so cute and perfect for each other and wants to have a threesome with you despite you being completely fulfilled by each other. Your in-laws both love each of your respective partners, but they are also never around. The concept of children does not exist, but you have a small group of fully formed adult proteges who devote their lives to understanding everything you think in order to be more like you.
👀👀 not gonna name names but SOME of u are sweet and kind and deserve the world and i am rooting for u
Me when I read a book by a famous author that’s a modern classic and everyone says it’s really good and then it’s really good
Me when I look at art and it makes me feel something and it’s a Monet.
There’s been some controversy online that the audience keeps assuming certain anime characters are white when they are in fact ethnically Japanese, however I think people are really missing the point on why characters are designed to look “white”.
I think the most overt example is with Light Yagami, who has light hair, an English name, and little to no ethnic features. In fact he does not even resemble the rest of his family, because he looks so white. But Light is meant to represent the majority perspective, which is oftentimes white. Light only sees the world in black and white, believes all criminals are evil without regard for systemic issues, his father works in law enforcement, his mother is a traditional house wife, and places himself on a pedestal above others. Similarly, Misa who supports him is blond and dresses very western. This is on purpose.
Light is ment to embody in many ways white supremacist values.
In contrast, L, who is English and the author could have easily made a traditional English detective, looks more ethically Japanese than Light. He has black hair and a short stature. On top of that his design embodies racist stereotypes like hunching over, not wearing shoes, being unkempt, child-like, etc. L’s moral perspective is that everyone should be equally brought to Justice no matter what, a more commonly held minority belief, which works alongside his character design.
This can be applied to other characters too. Although not always inherently negatively. I think it’s worth looking into why Gojo looks so white when he comes from an upper class background, and is worshipped as a genius all due to genetics. Whereas Geto looks ethnically Japanese, wears traditional clothes, and grew up ostracized from society.
I do think something to consider is whether some authors may also unintentionally make characters white washed due to internalized racism as well.
The point being, we shouldn’t automatically assume it’s the viewer who’s racist, when it could be the author, society, AND the viewer who is racist.
Hope this helps.
The best gift giving hack is to buy something that’s normally targeted for the opposite gender, because people genuinely want those things but are not used to getting them.
Buy your brother jewelry and cologne, buy your sister sports equipment and athletic shoes, buy your mom something professional and practical, buy your dad something fun and cute.
Obviously don’t get them something they would hate, but breaking a few gender norms can make you the first person to ever get a person something they probably have very little of.
Everyone argues over the morality of paying the bill on a first date, without truly analyzing it for what it is: a test of character.
If you go excessively out of your way to pay for the date it shows how much you like a person. That you view the relationship as valuable and care what the other person thinks. (And are a bit of a people pleaser).
If you pay for dinner without question. It shows you have strong internal responsibility, honor, and self respect. You might not like paying for dinner, but you will do it because you know who you are and hold yourself to a high standard.
If you pay for dinner and say “no worries”. It shows you are humble and aware of other people’s perspective. By looking out for their embarrassment or sense of paying you back.
If you pay for dinner, but grumble about it. It shows the only reason you are paying are for social norms, not intrinsic morals. That you are easily swayed by peer pressure and have little personal investment.
If you pay but only on the basis your counterpart pays the next time, even though you payed, it shows your commitment is conditional and relies on the other persons abilities.
If you don’t pay for dinner, but are upfront about early on before either of you leave, asking to split the bill. It at least shows concern for the other person and a self aware world view. You might not be winning any brownie points, but you are still a good communicator who knows what they want.
If you wait for the other person to pull out their wallet before you pay, you see that it’s a test and are testing the other person. However, your sense of responsibility is dependent on the other persons sense of responsibility. And would have no gripes being a dick, if you could get away with it.
If you belittle the other person for expecting you to pay the bill. You are an insecure liar with no sense of responsibility and a dick.
Paying for dinner is not really the test, you could pay for dinner and fail or not pay and pass. Rather it’s your relationship with yourself, money, and others that really is being showcased.
Why dose this read like a buzz feed quiz 😭
I hate how people are like men have a hard time emphasizing with women because they are over sexualized in media.
Like yeah, I too, a women, have a hard time emphasizing with a empty shell of a character who says nothing and walks around half dressed.
I too have little to no regard for them.
It’s not a gender thing, it a fucking empty box for a character thing.
And if you actually talk to men and say, “do you often see yourself in women characters?”
(Would recommend it’s honestly very interesting topic to watch people think about)
They’ll say rarely, but will be able to list examples of women who the DO empathize with on account of their character having something of substance.

Anyway your daily reminder two things can exist at once, a character can be both identified with and attractive.
Real fic writers never see the original source material.
The grass is always greener on the other side.
Ok sure, but sometimes your side has no grass because everything’s on fire.
What you fail to see is that the other side is equally on fire.
Imagine your arch rival being like, “I chosen by God, this crown is my divine right!”
And then conquering them just to say:
🌈💫✨seems like God loves me more✨💫🌈
Christianity be like we have only one god.
What are those?
The Saints, oh we just have one for every attribute ever, carry them around with us for protection, and place their icons in our place of worship.
Yeah ok, feels like paganism rebranded NGL
Riddle me this:
Three people sit down at a card table, the first says “no cash this time, let’s have some real stakes: I lose and I will take credit for my anonymous twitter, twelve years, no explanation.”
The second says, “bet, I drop my ao3 account, all bookmarks unprivated, history visible.”
The third says, “sex tapes.”
Who are the people? And which is the worst deal?
Just know all of those arduous daily maintenance tasks are not the only way of doing things. We used to have communal baths where people would bath and socialize without effort. Other society’s were built on communal dinning halls filled with friends and family, where cooking was relegated to trained professionals and cleaning was shared. Meal time was sacred. Exercise both filled daily life and was a deep philosophical endeavor to pursue, with a higher purpose than getting fit. Mediation is often done by large groups of people. Even reading was a collective effort, often orated out loud in groups. Clothes washing and water gathering happened in communal spaces. Socialization for much of history both eased the weight of chores and was added by them.
