the popular image of haunted houses came from dilapidated victorian houses that used to be a common sight that haunted the 20th century and now its these relics of the bygone peak of american capitalism like dead malls empty commercial buildings houses that are perpetually being resold more than lived in failing chuck e cheese franchises that all haunt the 21st century as the american empire crumbles before our eyes this malaise unspoken in the increasingly vaguely defined "liminal spaces" - "oddly familiar" "seen in dreams" all just a set dressing for a modern labyrinth with the infamous backrooms man as its own minotaur a terrifying yettragic figure seemingly pained and confused driven to madness in the paradoxical inhumanity of spaces built by humans for humans but it's really just a game of tag we all love to be chased we want to be scared for real and then turn off the tv it's all just a game the backrooms is a playground like we all wanted to climb on furniture or up balconies we all found a kind of fun in turning the serious adult world into some kind of jungle gym and it's the threat of the scary backrooms man that gives those who enter the backrooms permission to interact with this landscape in a way kids would get yelled at for like it's ultimately just about playing and having fun and while we can indulge in that a little bit by watching kane pixels backrooms found footage on youtube or his movie that is coming out soon even though he's too young to be supposed to be allowed to make a movie like we can indulge in it like that well it's just not the same as being a real person in the real backrooms like we truly will never know how joyous and alive one can feel being chased by the backrooms man or that it's probably the most alive one could feel in the very real very common quote unquote liminal spaces that the backrooms exists in clear reference to
