Banzai
Last Wednesday my parents and my sister visited me in Manila and we were supposed to eat at this Japanese buffet restaurant in MOA where my brother’s girlfriend celebrated her birthday last week. But I came home late because I had to order food for our class party, so we decided to eat in Cyma instead. Yesterday though, there’s this blog post all over facebook about the Japanese restaurant (Banzai) and being the food enthusiast that I am, I checked the post out and found myself craving for some good Jap food. So I reserved a table for six (family + Gelo’s girlfriend) for last night and aaaah Banzai definitely did not disappoint me!
Seriously though, if you’re a fan of Japanese food, you should try it out! Their meals have that authentic Japanese kick. Even their roast beef and roast duck! If you’re lucky too, you might catch their short exhibitions on the corridors. There were samurais and geishas everywhere out of nowhere. Then, they’ll finish the show with their four main chefs doing their own exhibitions with knives and some other kitchen utensils there.
Of course, I had my photo taken with them. Haha!

Sutukil Experience
Su-Tu-Kil (n.) — Sugba (grilling), Tula (stewing), and Kilaw (eating food raw)
The term was coined combining the words referring to Visayan’s conventional way of cooking meat, specially those of seafood. It is, based on observation, also one of Cebu’s most popular to-do’s for tourists. Our SuTuKil experience on our last day in Cebu wasn’t our first since we see to it to eat a lot of seafood when we can and when it’s cheaper than usual. Hehe!

The longest day of the year felt like it was the shortest.
Best day of summer yet! Thank you for making time this weekend even if you just got out of the hospital. Thank you for yet another food trip with a lot of walking somewhere around Taft. Moreover, thank you for being there for me through thick and thin (ykwii). :)
My first Marikina food trip was spent trying out Persian at Kebab Brothers in the becoming-popular Rainbow Street where oicobrillante actually lives nearby. I was actually shocked to see a food trip map of Marikina recently online amongst the usual maps of Maginhawa, Kapitolyo, and Jupiter. There was the rise of Cafe Lidia, Rustic Mornings, and many many more which we often go to but I rarely post online because they were my secret hideouts. But since we reached that time which I feared the most (huhu no more rendezvous), here we go!

Best mozzarella sticks I've tasted thus far. It's made with buffalo mozzarella cheese, that's why. I like this place, although I haven't tried their other entrees!
