In 15 seconds of dialogue Francis Wilkerson sums up what’s wrong with how women are criticized in our society and it’s great
I literally remember when this aired and something clicked in my head. He was putting to words what I kept seeing over and over in media without apology or explanation
The Latinos of Asia: How Filipino Americans Break the Rules of Race (2016)
Is race only about the color of your skin? In The Latinos of Asia, Anthony Christian Ocampo shows that what “color” you are depends largely on your social context. Filipino Americans, for example, helped establish the Asian American movement and are classified by the U.S. Census as Asian. But the legacy of Spanish colonialism in the Philippines means that they share many cultural characteristics with Latinos, such as last names, religion, and language. Thus, Filipinos’ “color"―their sense of connection with other racial groups―changes depending on their social context.
The Filipino story demonstrates how immigration is changing the way people negotiate race, particularly in cities like Los Angeles where Latinos and Asians now constitute a collective majority. Amplifying their voices, Ocampo illustrates how second-generation Filipino Americans’ racial identities change depending on the communities they grow up in, the schools they attend, and the people they befriend. Ultimately, The Latinos of Asia offers a window into both the racial consciousness of everyday people and the changing racial landscape of American society.

Before slavery and indoctrination This was the way of African people all around the world . It was about building empires . We did not do sexual shaming and egotistical thinking of sex . They took away our culture and way of living and now we adopt to their thinking and perception of marriage and relationships . This type of marriage / arrangement really a benefit for the women . To ensure her kids have generational wealth and a father . Also if the husband should die she’d have a sister wife and together they would continue raising the kids with their different skill sets . Most arrangements happen when two women become sister wife’s and then they search for a husband together . Stop bringing up stuff y’all still have to worry about in monogamist relationships like stds . You suppose to have people get tested before you have sex with them anyways . A lot of people have children in Broken homes but y’all find a way to explain to them the situation jus fine . So explaining them this type of relationship isn’t a problem kids are smart . Before adding Any comments ask yourself if you have to worry about it in a monogamous relationship . That’s should answer you concern . Just say this arrangement isn’t for you which is fine because everyone isn’t the same and move on This is for brothas who have the means to provide for more than one woman . Not only that but have the mindset to handle both women emotionally, spiritually, sexually, mentally so stop bringing that up . Even tho the arrangements isn’t even about sex mostly . It’s not a threesome . It’s not some freak orgy . Each woman brings something different to the table . Skills that will help raise the children , keep the space peaceful , clean , and help increase wealth with knowledge .
Mobs lynched Mary Turner on May 17, 1918 in Lowndes County, Georgia because she vowed to have those responsible for killing her husband arrested. Her husband was arrested in connection with the shooting and killing Hampton Smith, a white farmer for whom the couple had worked, and for wounding his wife. Sidney Johnson. a Black man, apparently killed Smith because he was tired of the farmer’s abuse. Unable to find Johnson. the killers lynched eight other Blacks Including Hayes Turner and his wife Mary. The mob hanged Mary by her feet, poured gasoline and oil on her and set fire to her body. One white man sliced her open and Mrs. Turner’s baby tumbled to the ground with a “little cry” and the mob stomped the baby to death and sprayed bullets into Mary Turner.
