I read a few chapters of Jinx (the webtoon) and GEEZ what a nightmare??
I hate violence, so obviously it’s really not my thing, but I wanted to see what all the hype was about. And this part specifically made me so fucking upset!! ⬇️
Aww poor thing 🥺 must be so hard being an egomaniac, abuser and rapist 🥺
Abusers don’t just want to abuse. They expect you to play your role and reflect back an image of themselves that feeds their ego, while they’re actively abusing you. At some point, you can’t rape someone 8536855 times and expect that buying them a suit (imposing it on them without even asking) and taking them to some fancy restaurant (same shit as the suit) magically cancels out the abuse. I’ve seen people say the abuser in Jinx (I don’t remember his name) became a green flag, and that’s absolutely terrifying.
This guy is an abuser on every level (he’s not just a rapist, it’s the full combo) and even when he’s being "nice", he never actually asks the victim what they want.
He’s not doing it to fix his MANY mistakes. He’s doing it for an ego trip. He wants emotional validation, his ego stroked, and absolution without actually changing and without really questioning himself.
I really like bl, but it honestly terrifies me that this kind of garbage is what gets pushed to the front, while people make big dramatic sighs when you mention webtoons like our sunny days and other rare actually green flags.
I know it’s largely the patriarchy’s fault, but can we collectively stop mixing romance and violence and acting like it's fucking normal??
