Real talk, Arthur Bryan from Eleceed is one of the only acquired-amputee characters that I connect to. As a congenital amputee, it always sucks to see how amputee characters are immediately superpowered by prostheses or magic powers or what have you, and don't have any problems whatsoever emotionally or physically because of what's different about them... We never see congenital amputee characters who just exist as they are; only acquired-amputee characters who have it better than everyone else immediately via crazy superpower robot arms. But here's this sassy lil guy in a dog-eat-dog magic superpower universe who loses his arm, then his social status, his power, his motivation, and everything else because of that loss, stays where he's at with that loss, and is just starting to emotionally grow through it despite the permanent, visibly-written impact it has on his life-- even with the prosthesis, he's weaker than before. And he doesn't let it go when the people who abandoned him come crawling back for different reasons, because it'll never be the same nor any better in most regards. I was born and raised to feel the same as everyone else, and my amputation still gets to me sometimes because of how it disables me and how other people see me at my baseline best. I'm really grateful to the writers of Eleceed for making Arthur feel so real.
