"Awakening"

These remnants of me are a waking dream.

I have begun to wipe them from my eyes as I rise

from the slumber of an imagined world,

of a playground of falsities and manipulation,

of keeping myself in line for fear of losing

what shred of safety survival could only wish to offer.

And I will not regain these pieces,

yet what remains I can say,

without a shroud of doubt,

is still good,

is still worth love.

"Lamenting Eternally Temporary Circumstances"

Pebbles in my pocket with time and grass.

I occupy space with intangible mental energy.

The root of this flower is tied to Hell,

and I feel like the devil.

A curse upon me since my conception,

regarded with disdain and tainted with regression.

What happens if I win?

What will I do then?

I don't know why I have to pretend.

I know what I'd do without rhyme or reason.

At my core there is only self-inflicted treason.

I'd sit in this curse of thought and self,

ask my creator why I can't let go of betrayal

with no answers from Him…

'Cause truth is hidden within.

Yet outside I find the struggle of living,

a divine being inside what's human made.
