Ingredients: 1/2 cup of water. 1/2 cup of white sugar. 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar. 2 tablespoons of fish sauce. 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. 1 tablespoon of minced red chili peppers. 1 tablespoon of lime juice. 1 teaspoon of cornstarch. 1 teaspoon of water.
Instructions: In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of white sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to simmer. Add 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of minced red chili peppers, and 1 tablespoon of lime juice. Simmer for about 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 teaspoon of water to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.
