I got up to Estraven’s first chapter in my LHoD listen and oh my god, the foreshadowing gets REALLY painful at this point. Estraven has a lot more going on than I realized the first time I read this, too. The fact that they choose to spend a couple months as a minimum wage worker after a life of upper class privilege seems to point to really intense avoidance issues. Ugh, I really wish we got to see more of Estraven when they’re not around Genly. Estraven who apparently blends in seamlessly with the factory workers, who is referred to as ‘my dear’ and 'shrewdly mad’ by Orgoreyen politicians. Estraven who had such a bad relationship with Ashe, who doesn’t record a single thought for their children, none of whom can be older than ten. ESTRAVEN. Also I listened for three hours while working on a charcoal drawing and it was amazing, I really recommend the audio format.

Whenever I’m going to talk about the baby AU I feel the need to preface it all with,

“wait please I’m a feminist I swear that I don’t think childbearing/-rearing is or must be a person’s ultimate fulfillment and though I admittedly have an interest in family and reproduction, I don’t believe that blood kinship is or must be the most important organizing principle in society and I DO also have other character pairings that I headcanon as not wanting or having children because I think that’s more in line with their personalities. It’s just that I want to give these particular two a kid! I like to think about that!
