im posting this here despite the website being extremely white centered, I want people to understand how in this country it's basically ok to murder and victimize black people, especially women and children in the name of "self defense" and white America will reward you for your antiblackness.

this took SUCH a huge deal of unlearning because, like so many of you, i came out of a home where being quietly in trouble WAS the default state, and i DID grow up not just with the assumption but borderline religious conviction that Everyone Is Mad At Me, I Am Bad, I Must Exist In A Constant State of Attempting to Pacify The Natural Rage I Inspire In Everyone. and no it actually turns out that my family are the freaks . and yours are too

if the peacefulness of your relationship with someone (familial, romantic, friendly, anything) can be destroyed by effective communication/asking them for effective communication, you have got to get out of there. if you can’t get out of there, you’ve got to throw away any ideas about what that person thinks of you because they have their own shit to figure out before they can accurately read anyone else

I've been working on this for hours, where's the results? Cause and effect dictates that my will mustered must go somewhere; it dissipates into thought, purposeless, nothing happens.
At times I wonder if I know at all what it means to live, to be something more than an automaton. I catch glimpses of her, in conversation, better times; is that a front? reality?
It's hard to tell, I don't live in reality anyway... my body image is undoubtedly divergent from real life. She is unmistakably a girl, I am blessed for that, but indescribably different.
I guess I'm hopeful that in this "new chapter" I can bring her to the forefront. I am scared and worried, readers are at the edge of their seats pleading for idealization =|:P
God, I hate how people get upset over "misgendering" dead cis people.
I'm talking specifically about how many otherwise-"woke" people will get up in arms about any idea of kurt cobain being transfem, but this also applies generally; another example people talk about: transmascs who lived as men to fight in wars, and just kept doing that "for some reason"... etc.
Thinking that calling kurt cobain a closeted transfem is somehow abhorrent or regressive or "best not to speculate" or "he used he/him, so respect his wishes" displays what I feel like is an almost fundamental ignorance of transphobia, trans people, etc..
AND KURT COBAIN IS DEAD, ANYWAY!
Usually people will bring up the "hypocrisy" of ignoring one person's stated pronouns while expecting yours to be respected. This is the kind of thinking that makes people say "stop anti-white racism" and "why can black people use the n-word but I cant?", it's ignorant of any context or even how oppression operates.
A cis (perisex, because I don't know enough about intersex issues) person is just plainly not the target of transphobia. If a cis man is misgendered, even in a derogative sense, he can exempt himself by falling back on his state-assigned, society-aligned sex/gender! He is minimally impacted, i.e. not the target of transphobia, merely a chance casualty. Beyond that, this pejorative action actually serves to enforce his manhood, he is directly encouraged to be more manly. (If any of this interests you, look into transfeminism or something)
One need not look toward transphobia, even; misogyny operates in the same manner. We can all agree women are the primary targets of misogyny, right? (actually, it's more broad than that, but we're simplifying right now.) So, when a man is called "girly", effeminate, etc., is he the target of misogyny? Clearly misogyny is the problem here... but he's not affected in the way a woman is: the statement is targeted at him, not the oppression. (this one is just plain feminism)
TL;DR: there are more important things to focus on than trans people seeing themselves in someone else, whether or not that person is cis.

For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.

Additional information: State lawmakers have been gunning for Pearson and Jones nearly their entire terms. Most notably, in 2023, the House expelled them for participating in a protest at the Capitol. Their districts had to have special elections to have them reinstated.
Pearson is one of the plaintiffs of a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the redistricting.
The city most affected by the redistricting is Memphis, where locals are fighting against xAI's data center, which has been operating with very little oversight and is poisoning the people who live there. Here is a previous post on that with more information and more sources.
