Mejiro McQueen
McQueen's dynamic with other characters is what makes her interesting and also what makes Season 2 of the anime a rough ride if you're a fan.

Gold Ship
I didn't get into Umamusume when the game came out and all the memes were going around, but I did get into it when I watched the first 3 seasons recently.
Gold Ship is cool.
My recent reblog has got me thinking of how comically bad a Netflix live-action adaptation of LOK would be. A few friends and I collaborated on what would happen:
âą Korra would learn airbending in the time skip between B1-B2 rather than it being unlocked due to her other elements being blocked.
âą Katara would be dead and have a bunch of statues to satisfy the dumbest of the fanbase, but her impact on the world would be entirely erased and she would just be present as an occasional reference.
âą Zuko and Toph would be present throughout the entire show despite having nothing to do. They would get the exact same âwhoa the old people can still fightâ scene in every season.
âą Bolin and Mako would still have living parents who just disagreed with their choice to be pro-benders and are estranged from them because of it. They would have no other tragic backstory to them.
âą Every single one of the seasonsâ moral quandaries would skew the wrong way: B1 would be black and white and say that non-benders in general are bad, B2 would make Unalaq clearly villainous towards Korra from the start rather than being nice to her, B3 would skew pro-totalitarian rule and side with the Earth Queen, and B4 would be pro-fascist.
âą Side note to the above point - the Earth Queen would be portrayed as a tragic figure who loved her people, but at the same time they would still show her subjects suffering, much like how NATLA softened Ozai but for some reason still has him do the same evil stuff he did otherwise.
âą Korrasami and Makorra would be teased consistently throughout, and whichever route they chose at the end wouldnât make sense.
âą Harmonic Convergence, the Red Lotus, the Zaofu arc, and other things from later seasons would be crammed into B1 purely for fan service.
âą Korra will constantly insult and belittle Asami.
âą Korra will only gain skill or wisdom if a male character either teaches it to her or causes her to learn it.
âą Bolin will explain his entire thought process out loud during the scene where he learns lavabending, which will happen way too soon in the story in a scene with much lower stakes.
âą They will spend at least 10 minutes showing Kuvira killing citizens because violence = mature writingâŠI guess.
âą They will change the circumstance in which Su gave Lin her scar for no reason whatsoever.
âą Lin will not do what she did in B1 and betray the police force for the greater good because the show will be vehemently pro-corrupt cops and hate women.
âą Jinora will be as sidelined throughout the show as Katara is in NATLA, if not worse.
âą Instead of being a stressed but well-meaning teacher for Korra, Tenzin will be generally mean to her and everyone else for no good reason other than lack of nuance. Much like his father in NATLA.
âą Fire Nation and its royal family have more of a presence but entire lore gets fucked up.
âą Varrick is not portrayed as morally grey and is just a bad guy until they decide he isnât at the very end. He also has none of the personality he has in the show and is just a boring CEO villain stereotype to be âmore realistic.â
âą The Kataang childrenâs beef is simplified into Aang just being a bad dad rather than the nuance of his responsibilities and Kya & Bumiâs feelings of Tenzinâs privilege being the driver of it. It will be solved off-screen.
âą The Fog of Lost Souls appears in B1 purely to throw a bunch of old characters in it for fan service. It wonât be limited to just Zhao.
âą Korra wonât have her connection to the past lives severed because they donât want any stakes and they donât know what to do without endlessly referencing the prior avatars for fan service.
âą Lin and Tenzinâs complex relationship will be simplified into Lin and Pema having beef that is never solved. Tenzin will be equally mean to both of them.
âą The Beifongs (as in Lin, Toph, and Su) will be separated by some contrived tragic circumstance rather than complicated family dynamics. Lin and Su will be happy to see each other despite having the ability to do so for decades.
âą Avatar Wan will be a painting in the background of a single scene.
âą Pabu and/or Naga will be killed off and revived for cheap emotional effect.
âą All the airbenders created via Harmonic Convergence will just willingly join Tenzin. There will be no arc about them having to search them out or convince them to become air nomads. They will just magically appear and be air nomads.
Please feel free to leave your ideas below.
âIâM BOLIN, AND I INVENTED LAVABENDING!!!!!â
"Avatar Wan will be a painting in the background of a single scene."
This one made me choke laughing because of how accurate it is. That's exactly what they would do.
Nekozuka Hibiki (Cheerleader)
I actually got Cheerleader Hibiki before I got the regular one. Trying a solid color background instead of the screenshot. Yappari, I think I prefer the screenshot background.
i dont care if monday sucks... tuesday cost me sixty bucks... wednesday thursday give no fucks. it's friday im a duck
the entire thesis of rwby is said very plainly in volume 9. That little kindnesses stack up more powerfully than strength.
I forgot polls exist.

Mel Brooks on taking studio notes:
the sunk cost fallacy has been my favorite fallacy for as long as I can remember. so at this point it's probably too late to pick a different one
I just heard about the recency bias, and honestly I think it's gotta be the best one ever
Everyone is saying that the bandwagon effect is the best bias, so they have to be right
I once had this one logic professor who said that appeal to authority is the best fallacy. She's an expert in logic, so she must be right.
Come on, the appeal to tradition has been the best fallacy for decades. Maybe even longer! Why change the way things have always been?
I've been using screenshots as backgrounds in my Chibi Art for a while, but once again I'm wondering if it distracts from the chibi itself and if maybe I should just do a solid color bg. đ€
I love Duchess and Maddie so so much, especially in relation to each other. Duchess is, officially, a Royal: one who believes that everyone should follow their destiny. Except she doesn't want to follow her destiny, because *who* would? When everyone else around you seems to have a happily ever after or at least a decent life, and yours ends in tragedy? So she sabotages other girls to take their destinies, not because she wants *their* destinies, specifically, but any happy ending. In contrast, Maddie is a Rebel, but she is not only completely content with her destiny, she is extremely excited about it. Not only that, in contrast to Duchess' bitterness, she's extremely sweet and understanding. Her *best friend* is the daughter of the woman who cursed her home. I think it's very easy to interpret Maddie's being a rebel as just an extension of her liking things that go against the grain, and that's also true, but it's also because Maddie is an extremely loving person who doesn't want anyone to go through things they don't want to go through â despite her positivity, she's still a teenage girl who has lost her home and possibly her friends (before wtw anyways) â because she knows what it's like.
I just rambled and maybe this doesn't make sense to anyone else but me but I like seeing them as each other's foil so much. They both deserve the entire world and more.
"anticipating."
Shirasu Azusa
Blue Archive V3: Eden Treaty might be my favorite part of the the story so far and Azusa is a big part of that. Her character and back story are pretty good and playing through the story just made me want to protect her.
one of the coolest things about RWBY thematically is how you have this big point of how all of the main characters have the things that make them unique - their individual outfits, their personal weapons, and of course their semblances - their own unique superpower - and how it's all these different aspects coming together and working together in this collage of self-expression that will save the world
and then the overarching antagonist, Salem, is someone who doesn't have anything that actually makes her personally unique - she has no weapon, her colour scheme is borderline monochromatic, and everything that makes her special doesn't come from anything she's done or worked for
her magic (and it's just broadly magic, not a specific power unique to Salem) was an innate thing she was born with, just like any other human from her era, which was a gift from Darkness to humanity
her immortality was granted to her by Light
and her current form and control over the Grimm came about by her throwing herself into Darkness's Grimm pools (and that wasn't the intended result when she did that)
it's the thing i find kinda funny about Salem; that all her posturing about being superior to the current humanity, she's only special because of things outside of her. she despises the Brothers but thinks herself superior to humanity solely because of the things she got from the Brothers, meanwhile current humanity is having to operate on powers born within themselves and their own invention
and we see this with Cinder too - she starts out with her Scorching Caress semblance, and her bow-swords Midnight weapon, but after she gets the full Fall Maiden powers, she basically never uses Scorching Caress again, and relies solely on weapons she makes from the magic she stole, and the Grimm arm she got from Salem
this even extends into her fights with other Maidens after becoming Fall
when fighting Raven, she was constantly making weapons during the fight, while Raven utilised her magic in conjunction with her own weapon for the most part; and Cinder ultimately loses there (thanks to Vernal - one of the few people Raven can use her semblance to create a portal to - using her own weapon, distracting her for a second so Raven can get in close - but similarly, Cinder survives because Raven decides to rely on magic to freeze her instead of getting another attack in to get a sure victory)
when fighting Penny for the first time, Penny uses her weapons and in-built sensors to pull out a win, barely using her magic in the actual fight itself, but instead to a) try and mitigate the damage Cinder was doing to Amity and b) create storm clouds seemingly to power up her own big laser attack. Cinder learned enough from the previous match with Raven to not go on alone this time but still underestimated Penny and got blindsided by the fact that Penny's sensors - something that makes Penny unique - make Emerald's illusions useless
then the script is flipped in the second fight with Penny, because Penny no longer has her mechanical body, so has to rely on magic as a substitute for everything she used to be able to do, and she ends up taking a mortal wound. but even in that situation, Cinder still doesn't get what she wants out of that fight (the Winter Maiden's magic) as by that point she had betrayed Neo and was back to solo fighting with her magic-made weapons and Grimm arm (Weiss fought her off with her Glyphs, Myrtenaster and Gambol Shroud for long enough that Penny could pass on the Winter Maiden's power to Winter
like there is a strong case for a theme there
hell it even extends to Ruby - Ruby's Silver Eyes are a power from the God of Light but they've never won her a fight; Ruby's use of Crescent Rose and her semblance have always been more reliable because of how highly situational the Silver Eyes are and how tricky they are to use
it makes me wonder if, following this trend, this is the reason why we've never seen a Semblance from an Oz incarnation so far - so much of his plans have hinged on his god-derived magic (not necessarily him using it, but using the Maidens as keys to the Vaults, empowering Qrow and Raven as his spies) and keeping his reincarnations in positions of power and authority so he can perpetuate the narrative he's trying to create; and that's all been falling apart as the lies finally catch up on him. while he does have his own weapon, it's passed down between incarnations; so Ozpin and Oscar don't have unique things of their own to work with
The JNPRberries ready to join team RWBY at the beach. The Green Beans stopped for ice cream
i had a dream last night that the entire world used a currency (?) called angrypennies which as the name implies are obtained by experiencing anger. the stronger and more intense your anger was, the more angrypennies you'd gain. an all-consuming rage would earn you more than a slight irritation, etc. so people were always searching for ways to fuel their anger and purposefully keeping themselves angry all the time because they wanted to earn angrypennies. unclear if angrypennies could be exchanged for goods and services, or if they were just a collectible.
anyway, as if this wasn't heavy-handed enough, at one point british comedian greg davies appeared and explained that angrypennies couldn't be worth feeling angry all the time. this was a real revelation to dream-me and i was finally able to break free of the angrypenny grind and allow myself to experience emotions other than anger.
it goes without saying that i will be using the word angrypenny as if it was part of the common vernacular instead of a term that my dreaming brain conjured up i.e. "he's all about the angrypennies" (derogatory way to refer to a guy who searches for reasons to be angry and possibly lacks introspection)
Item: Angrypennies
