Its a long time since i last posted or interacted in any social midia, but i felt the need to come and give you a piece of my mind.
I just watched the finale and I can say, with all my heart, that for me it is perfect. By the end of it I was crying and sobbing with so many emotions, and not a single one of them was sadness or disapointment.
What do makes me feel disapointed, though, is the behaviour this fandom is having with the way it decides to show its desaproving of the end.
Sincerely, what did you expect? That they made out in the bookshop? That they kissed and kissed and kissed after ALL these years of trauma and miscomunication, in the middle of all this MESS? This is not a piece of fanfiction (and i say this with the ultmost respect to all the writters of fanfiction in this world)
Good Omens was NEVER a show that had this sort of vibe. And it is the artists involved in the production's style for it to be this way. The show had NEVER promissed to fulfill this UNREAL expectations that you had, and yet you are throwing yourself in the grownd and crying like a child over a thing that we just get to have because the people involved had to FIGHT for it to exist.
We are lucky to have this 90 minutes, because it was way easier to just leave the project after all that happened (Neil Gaiman's shit), but they still fight with prime for these 90 minutes. (Of course i still wanted the 6 episoded like everybody, but better 90 min then nothing)
They had to work a whole season of 6 episodes into this tiny little time of screen and STILL didn't lose the touch of good omens and its style? Do you have an idea of how difficult it might have been? (And of course im not saying you HAVE TO LIKE IT. Im just saying you dont have to go cussing at the whole thing saying the show was ruined)
The art is fabulous, the acting is clearly made with love and despite being a bit rushed (which is completely understandable) it is perfect and stays true to the nature of the show until the very end.
Honestly? For you who have been bitching about they not having a mouth to mouth kiss, I got you. But it certainly isnt a reason to be disrespectfull towards people's art. To cuss and say the show its ruined just because you didn't like it.
Let me teach you a very important thing, my friend.
Not liking the show≠the show being bad made.
Aziraphale and Crowley ended up going loving each other freely, finaly. And they did it with style.
"I wish they had been more selfish". So you wish they werent themselves, im afraid.
Aziraphale had put it In Crowley's hands the choice of his life and despite HIS DREAM being right at his reach he wished for something bigger. For one of his favorite creations (humanity) to have free will. Something he never had.
He had asked "did I said the wrong thing?", and Aziraphale laughed. He laughed because the demon could have everything he wanted and yet he thought about mundane, impure, insignificant people. The people they loved.
And that, right there, is exacly what makes the angel loves him so so so much. That's what makes everything right.
If you think your insatisfaction is jusctificated with "the movie was BAD MADE" instead of "I didn't like it" because you thought they were exchange humanity's well being for themselves's, then I will have to ask for you to whatch the show again, because you probably did it with your eyes closed the first time.
As my final words on this:
To the messiest, silliest, most predictable thing in the universe.
